We have a beautiful plant called an hibiscus. We have had this plant for twenty odd years now. It was gifted to me by my son and family one Mother’s Day! I have loved this plant for all those years as it grew to five feet high – taller than me! That is including the pot it was in. It had gorgeous peach or salmon blossoms that bloomed several at a time! Sigh!
My wonderful husband, John, did it again! After the last three blossoms dropped from the plant, he attacked it with a sharp shears and cut it down, down, way down! He did this while I was in the shower and couldn’t stop him!
When I came out to the kitchen where it had called its winter home, I screamed in alarm the moment I spotted it! I couldn’t believe how much he had scalped it once again! I always dread this time when the last flower falls because I know that he will be contemplating when he can cut it down. Well, he really did it this time! Yikes!
Here are the photos of before and after for you to share your shock as I did of what he did to my beloved plant! He has made himself scarce ever since! Haha!

Please notice the color differences of the blossoms when they were outside brighter and more salmon colored and when they were inside lighter peach colored. They were all beautiful though! Don’t you think?
I take plenty of photos of this plant all year round so I can remember how beautiful it was. Well, I guess it will grow again and regain its glory. I just have to keep John away from it in the meantime so it can recover from the shock of being scalped!!
Thank you so much for listening to me rant about this. Come back again soon. There is always something brewing and growing at JemsBooks!

Why do men do this? I sympathize with you.
Fingers crossed it will grow back! 😳
Try not to fret. Sometimes a good trimming will produce amazing results. Fingers crossed.
It did come back last after the trim! 🤞
I felt the shock and sadness – and I anticipate the rejoicing!
Me too! 😳🤣
There are times when you can’t trust your husband with trimmers. What a scalp job – but like a too-short haircut, you know it will grow back!
