Louey is the first children’s book I ever wrote and is still my favorite. Some readers have told me that they love Louey too and consider him their favorite. This is the first book my husband illustrated in crayon drawings. He has told me that he wants to update it into digital drawings but I won’t let him. I like to remember the way we first started with Louey and keep him this way, otherwise he will not be distinctive and stand out in a crowd. I think children love to color, I know I always did as a child. When they see Louey in this colorful format they will want to color too.
At some of the book signings in the past I brought along some coloring pages of some of my books for the children to enjoy. They were excited about them and couldn’t wait to go home and color after their parents purchased Louey as a guide.
