Mariah must draw on her strength and resilience to survive danger at every turn. How much more can Mariah endure? How far will Mariah go to protect her family?
Many readers were shocked by this novel and especially gripped by the raw and brutal beginning of the story. I was deeply affected by this story too when I created it. It all came to me in a dream after hearing about a rape on a college campus just about the time that my daughter would be attending college. It was frightening to imagine and even more so to write about. My daughter was safe in school, thank goodness. She had to listen to me though as I wrote this story and needed my warnings.
