A Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans! If you do not celebrate Thanksgiving may you have a lovely day whatever you do.
There will be turkey and all the fixings, mashed potatoes, squash, green beans or other veggies, gravy, rolls, and more. Of course there are plenty of desserts – pies, cakes, cookies, etc. Yikes my pants will be groaning! I always make my famous pumpkin pie! I can’t wait to have a slice!
Having turkey only once a year makes it extra special! My mouth is watering just thinking of it! Yum!
Here is a poem I wrote in 2019 for this occasion. May every day be as special as Thanksgiving!
A Time to be Thankful

It’s a time to be thankful.
It’s a time to be helpful.
It’s a time to be caring.
It’s a time to be sharing.
It’s a time to remember others.
It’s a time to remember that we are all sisters and brothers.
It’s a time to show love.
It’s a time to thank God above.
Thanksgiving is a time to remember that every day we should be thankful.
There is always plenty of food, drink, fun and conversation each Thanksgiving. As the family grows larger it is not always easy to get everyone together but we do our best.
