Novels for 18+ that will keep you turning pages!

Are you looking for an unputdownable read? Well, I just may have just the one for you below.

As you know already, I write in multi-genres and for all ages. I love to mix things up a bit. Most of my books for all ages have some surprises, especially my novels for 18+

In this post I would like to focus on just one of my books – An Angel Among Us (A Short Story Collection) of 15 stories. What these stories have in common is surprise endings. Each story is in a different genre or multi-genres with a touch of the unusual.

Blurb:

A collection of short stories that covers several genres including romance, grief/loss, mystery, suspense, sci-fi, fantasy and paranormal. This book is dedicated to a courageous friend who passed this year. The first story is specially created for her and is the inspiration for the title of this book.

As I mentioned in the blurb above this book was dedicated to a dear friend from high school who I had connected several years ago. At that time, she had lost her beloved husband and was feeling ill herself. We corresponded back and forth, and she told me at one point that she had stage 4 breast cancer. My heart was breaking for her. She was not going to have treatment and had given up. She wanted to join her husband.

When I heard this, I told her about my book and promised to write a story for her and include it in my short story collection. The book was to be dedicated to her.

She was soon rapidly declining in health and could no longer correspond with me on her own. She enlisted a friend to write down her thoughts to send to me.

I knew I had to hurry with the story for time was running out for my friend. I sent her the completed story and she was thrilled and grateful that I would dedicate my book to her. Unfortunately, the book was not completed in time. She passed away a few months before I published it.

My heart broke for her. She was a lovely person with a remarkable sense of humor, kindhearted, generous and sweet. She left behind an empty space in our lives and in this world, for not many are like her. May she RIP.

Each time I look at this book I think of Anne and know that she is smiling down on me for remembering her this way. I only wish I could have done more for her.

If you are looking for some short stories to entertain you, then this is the book for you. They are quick reads, and you can read more than one at night or anytime. Sometimes we just want to read a short story and not get into a 300-page novel. Especially if we are busy and don’t have time to sit and read a long book. I hope you enjoy Anne’s story along with the rest of them. Some of the stories will have you holding your breath, while others will grip your heart and bring tears to your eyes.
