Do you love short stories? I do! I love to be entertained with an enjoyable short read especially if I don’t have a lot of time to read a full-length book.
I had several short stories (15 in all) written and set them aside back in 2017 but didn’t want to make a full-length story out of any of them. I decided at that time to put them together into a collection. Each story had a surprise ending and was of a different genre. There would be something for everyone in one collection.
When I reconnected with a high school friend who I hadn’t seen for years I was inspired to write a story and dedicate it to her once I found out that she was dying from Stage 4 breast cancer. She had also lost her husband the year before. My heart went out to her. We kept in touch, writing back and forth over Facebook and emails until she couldn’t write and converse anymore. I sent her the story I had dedicated to her and promised to publish the book and dedicate it all to her with the title, An Angel Among Us. She was pleased with it and thanked me for the honor. I was glad that she liked the story but was heartbroken that unfortunately she passed before I could publish the collection and send her the book. She was truly an angel among us. She was a kind, caring person with a wonderful sense of humor. She is remembered fondly by all whose lives she touched. RIP Anne!

I have thought about possibly creating a new collection of short stories with multi-genres over the next year or so. I have a few other irons in the fire to complete first. That is the way I like it – having a variety of projects all lined up to keep me busy and hopping from one genre to another. Just the way I like it.
