HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! 🎂 🎁
I can’t believe I am now 70 YEARS OLD! Yikes! Where did the years go? There have been ups and downs but I am still here and kicking strong!

My husband surprised me with a gorgeous bouquet of mixed roses. I love it! Each rose signifies the following:
Red – love, beauty, courage and respect, etc.

White – purity, innocence, reverence, etc.

Yellow – joy, friendship, gladness, etc.

Each rose displays how I feel about my thoughtful, kind, and loving husband of 19 years. He gave me red roses two weeks ago on our anniversary. Poor guy. I should have thought about that when we set our wedding day – too close to my birthday. It keeps him on his toes. Ha!
Tomorrow my two wonderful children and their equally fantastic spouses are giving me a birthday cookout at my son’s house. My grandchildren will be there – all five of them. I can’t wait to see them. It has been a little while that we have all gotten together before our trip.
I want to say a big THANK YOU to all my friends online, new and old, who have sent lovely birthday greetings to warm my heart and make my day so special! I can’t thank you enough. This 70 year old needs all the love and support she can get. I am going through a difficult time right now but it too shall pass. Prayers needed for good health.
I have much to be thankful for – loving husband, wonderful supportive children and grandchildren and siblings, friends online and elsewhere. My blessings are overflowing. Just thinking about all that I have makes me fill with tears. Thank you, dear God, for all these fabulous blessings and letting me wake up another day! My prayer to Him is that I will have many more years to complete my goals with my books and provide fun reading for children everywhere for years to come.
My handsome hubbie has planned to take me today to a movie to see Antman & the Wasp and then out for a light dinner. I’ve been excited about seeing this movie. I loved the first one. Antman is hysterical and the special effects are outstanding! Laughter is good for the soul!
Thank you, readers, for listening to this old woman go on. Please come back again for more news, reviews, interviews and stuff.

Happy birthday, Janice. I hope your health issues are not serious. My Mother had breast cancer a few years ago. She overcame it and we will be celebrating her 80th birthday later this year. I love roses too, the yellow ones are my favourite.
Thank you, Robbie. I hope to be around to 80 and beyond! God bless your mother! 🤗 😘

Lovely celebrations, Janice! Enjoy every minute, and happy, happy birthday! Don’t forget the CAKE!! Eat it! LOTS of it!! (As four years your senior, that’s my advice. ALWAYS eat the CAKE!) (Notice I’m yelling a lot, in my over-abundance of enthusiasm for CAKE!) 😀 😀 😀 ❤ ❤ ❤
Thank you, Marcia! I don’t usually eat the cake but maybe if my kids give me cake I will eat a slice! Yum! I can’t believe I’m 70! Yikes! 🤗😘💕
I am a pie person, myself, but on my birthday, it’s all about the CAKE. (Did I already mention that????) You must eat at least a slice. It’s good luck, you know. (I made that up, because I have to have some excuse!) 😀
Haha! You are too funny, Marcia! I, too, am a pie person. Love apple, strawberry rhubarb, blueberry! Ahh! Now I want pie!! I will eat a slice just for you today! 🤗 xx
The wrapping paper may be wrinkled, but the treasure inside never ages.
Happy birthday!
Thank you! I love that! I feel a little wrinkled but still young on the inside! 😁
Congratulations from here too. 🎂 🎂 🎂 🎂 🎂 Best wishes! Michael
Thank you, Michael! 😆
My pleasure! Have a good day of celebrations, and a great week ahead. Michael 🙂
😆 You too!
Michael reblogged your post to let us know it is your 70th. Here’s wishing you many, many more!

Thank you so much! 😀
Wow! A very happy birthday to you!
Thank you, Robert! 😀
🙂
You are so right. Reading keeps me healthy and I am three years older than you. For my 70th, my Advanced Writing students gave me a surprise party before class which lasted well into class time. (We ended up doing the plans for the day at home during the week.) Let me tell you, you haven’t partied until you party with 25, 20-25 year olds! I had to stay in bed the next day.
Good for you! They are keeping you young! Lol! Party on! 😜🤪😀
Lovely roses for a lovely lady! ❤ ♫ HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! ♫ xoxoxo…
Thank you, Bette! 😘🤗💕

Thank you so much, Debby! I’m still not better yet. Have a way to go! Thank you, my friend! Had a lovely day with my family! 💕😘🤗

Happy belated birthday, Janice. I hope you had a wonderful day and enjoyed all the celebrations 🎉🥂
Thank you, Hugh! Yes, I had plenty of celebrations. I start a week before! LOL! Hugs xx
I always do that with Christmas, not only because I love that time of the year, but because my birthday also falls at Christmas time. Ho, ho, ho…🎅Yes, I’m the real Santa, Janice. 😀
xx
Oh how festive! You need to get twice as much love, attention and gifts, Hugh! I hope you do! Hmm, where is your beard, Santa? Hugs 😘
Well, lots of love and attention but the gift-giving tends to be – “this is your birthday and Christmas present combined.” I don’t mind, though. It’s the thought that counts. The best thing I can get is a hug. 🤗
xx
I will send you a hug & kiss! 💕
A belated Haooy Birthday, Janice!! The flowers are gorgeous and I love the meaning behind the colours … ps. Glad to learn reading is good do ones health – a great excuse to read even more! You’ll find me tucked up on the sofa or swing chair outside, a book/kindle in my hand! Xx
Thank you so much, Annika! I had a lovely birthday. Yes, I too, am always with my iPad, Nook or a book in hand. They are my best friends! Ha! Hugs 😘
