What are your favorite genres?

Since I am an eclectic writer, my reading preferences are also eclectic. What are your favorite genres? As you can see by all my month reads and reviews that I read all kinds of books. Have you been checking out my reviews each month? I hope my reviews help you choose your next read.

I enjoy reading and reviewing books. The only time I will not review a book is if I cannot give it at least three stars. Do you review books you read? If not, please consider doing so to help others choose the next read especially if you really enjoy a particular book. We authors will love you for your efforts and so will readers who can’t decide what to read next.

Are you looking for your next read? I have books for all ages and myriad genres. I have 39 books at present and working on my 40th. You can check them out by clicking on the covers to the right of this post. There is something for all reading tastes and all ages. I have children’s books, books for MG/PT/YA, novels and a short story collection for 18+.

My favorite genre to read is mysteries. I also love suspense, surprise endings, serial crime, romance, paranormal, clairvoyant, short stories, and historical fiction. You will find something in all of these genres with my books.

On a recent mini-vacation I met a little boy of three. He was so precocious and talked non-stop during dinner one table over from us. When I was leaving I stopped by his table to say how much I enjoyed listening to him talk. I gave him a book mark and told him I would send him one of my books of his choice. All his parents had to do was write to me with his choice which I already know. He chose one that he liked right away. He was so cute and got very excited. He kept asking me will you send this book to me? I said I would. I told him parents to contact me. I hope they do, otherwise he will be so disappointed. I even did a pinkie swear with him. My joy is to see children reading and having fun with my books. The more I can encourage them to read, the better. Giving books away is one way to encourage children to read.

  1. Gee, I am attracted to books that I find uplifting, encouraging, informative, and have a touch (or more) of humor. I have many reference books, autobiographies, and biographies.

You are definitely the gourmand of books! I like mysteries also, but enjoy some fantasy if the world-building is good, sci-fi and historical novels.

  3. Jan Sikes says:

I love character-driven books and am open to reading all genres!

I do read a range of genres with exception of erotica, though I prefer historical fiction set in the ancient past, fantasy and sci fi, thrillers and humour.
