Freddie the Frog doing well!

I never introduced our little freshwater frog named Freddie. He was small when we got him. He has grown quite substantially over the past few months or so. He loves to eat. He is quite an active character.

Here are some photos I have snapped of him in his water world.

This first one is when we just got him. He looked directly at the camera and stuck out his tongue at me. He has since grown quite a bit as you can see.

I think in this photo above he sees himself in the glass. He kept going up and down making me dizzy watching him. He is quite active and never stays still for long unless he is sleeping.

One day last month Freddie jumped out of the tank while my husband was cleaning it. Freddie took quite a leap and landed on a towel on the floor. He jumped around a few times evading my husband’s hands while I screamed – GET HIM, GET HIM! I didn’t want to touch him. I felt a little queasy about it. In the past we had two frogs who jumped out of the tank unbeknownst to us until the next day. We found one outside our bedroom door and the second behind our office door quite far away. It was amazing that they had traveled that far before they succumbed (dried out). Sigh! Since then I am a little nervous about it happening again.

I guess Freddie thought that there was something better on the other side of the tank walls. He ventured out to see for himself. He always appears to be trying to find a way out. He is well taken care of and fed by my husband. I just enjoy watching Freddie in action all over the tank.

Freddie doesn’t appear to be able to see but he feels around for his food and always finds it. He is active and eating well for sure by the size of him. I hope you enjoyed learning about our frog. In case you are wondering – he eats whatever fish food we put inside the tank. We did recently purchase some small pellets for frogs and will see if he likes them as much as the shrimp and other fish food we give him.

Thank you for stopping by to read this post. I hope you will come back again for more eclectic posts about whatever pops into my overcrowded head. Thanks for your kind support.

Fascinating. Thanks for teaching us about Freddy. I hope you always catch him quickly when he escapes from the tank.
