Have you read my two-book series, Hunting Mariah and Mariah’s Revenge yet? You will not be able to put it down! When I wrote these two books the first in 2014 and the sequel in 2018 they frightened me half to death. I don’t know where they came from. Well, I do know where the idea came from – a dream and an incident that happened at a college. I put these two together and voila the first book was created.
It was also the time when my daughter was in college and there was a rape reported on a campus. I was frightened for her safety and that of other girls. Thank God she was safe and there were no problems on her campus. I did warn her to be careful walking around at night and not to walk alone. The campuses of the local colleges had sent out the same warning after the rape. But this book came from that and would not leave me until I wrote it all down.

AUTHORSDB FIRST LINES CONTEST – FINALIST!
An insane killer, obsessed with blood and death, seeks revenge with those he perceives wronged him. He is now on the loose. His next victim may be Mariah.
Mariah has lost her memory. Will she remember what has transpired in her past? Can Mariah escape this deadly killer’s grasp. Will she finally be safe? Will the killer be apprehended?
I hadn’t planned to write a sequel until I heard from fans that they wanted to know what happened to Mariah. I felt bad about the fact I did leave them hanging there waiting for a sequel. Well, when I decided to write the sequel it had been four long years since I had begun the story. Of course I did not remember much of it so I had to read it again to get into the killer’s mindset. That was not a pleasant thing to do, believe me. He haunted my dreams once again. It had taken a long time to get him out of my head and now he was back with a vengeance.
Some of my readers were horrified that I could write such violence. Me too! After all, I began as a children’s books author with sweet stories about baby animals and such in rhyme with life lessons. This violent genre for me was a 160 degree turn. It shocked my readers. They let me know it, too! I tried to explain to them what I told you here. It was a dream and would not leave me until I wrote it down the same way as all my books come to fruition. Once it is written down it goes away, all except the killer in Mariah’s books. He was relentless and did not want to go away.
Well, I hope those fans who requested the sequel were happy that the killer (Sage) nearly drove me to the brink of insanity. He is finally out of my head to be replaced by the craziness of my newest WIP, a fantasy series, Gateskin Chronicles. I hope you check that series out too.

AUTHORSDB FIRST LINES CONTEST – FINALIST!
This book begins where the first book, Hunting Mariah, left off. This suspense/thriller/crime novel will keep you turning pages as the tension grows. There will be twists and turns and some surprises. Many of the same characters will be in play to give support and encouragement to Mariah along the way.
A new man comes into Mariah’s life that reminds her of someone she wants to forget. He threatens to bring back the horrors that she and her family once endured. While the one she wants to forget suffers from a horrendous attack that puts his life in jeopardy.
Mariah must draw on her strength and resilience to survive danger at every turn. How much more can Mariah endure? How far will Mariah go to protect her family?
Here are some reviews of this series from Amazon:
I have been contemplating whether to begin another series using Mariah as the main character. It would be a mystery/crime series. What do you think? It’s just a thought that is running around in my head for now. I have plenty to tackle with the new WIP but I may need a diversion to get away from the characters in the fantasy series and do something true to life. Time will decide how to proceed with this new venture. I always give myself an impossible goal to achieve. Sometimes I make it, sometimes I don’t. But it is fun to try to achieve my highest expectations once in a while.
Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post. I hope you will check out this mystery/crime/thriller series. I would love to hear what you think about it. Did it frighten you too? Did you sleep well after reading it or did it keep you up all night?
Please come back again real soon for more entertaining posts about books, guest interviews, new projects, shameful self promos and whatever else pops into my already overcrowded brain.
