I know how important it is that our children and grandchildren read daily for their health and well being, to spark their creativity, to expand their vocabulary, and increase their knowledge base for school. Parents also benefit from reading.
When my children were young between 9-12 I would read many of the same books as they read in order to discuss the stories with them. This way I got to see what they were reading and at the same time realize if they were retaining what they had read. After age 12 my son said that I could now read my own books! Haha! But that didn’t stop me from reading all the Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew books that I could. I loved them. He is an avid reader to this day. My daughter doesn’t read as avidly being so busy taking care of her family, dog and all the needs of her home. She does read with her children daily though as I had done with her.
Watch for Book 6, Drystan the Dragon and Friends Series coming soon! The dragon series is a fun series for kids. They will learn about friendship, help others in need, we are all beautiful no matter what color, and be kind too others. Each dragon is a different color but all the dragons have names that begin with the letter ‘D.’ Children will have fun remembering the different dragons and their good deeds.
Jemsbooks Children’s books are available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Please consider giving books to all the children on your list for all occasions. There is nothing better than to see a child’s eyes light up when you give him/her a book – even more so when you read the book to them. You are giving them so much more than you could ever imagine, e.g., you spark their imagination, heighten their creativity, lift their spirits, increase their vocabulary, open up a whole new world to them, enhance their health and welbeing and encourage them to love reading. The gift of a book is worth more than gold to our children, grandchildren. Keep reading and gifting books to children. Let’s bring up a generation of readers and thinkers. Thank you for your support!
