Summer Flowers in Bloom!

I love sharing my flowers when they are in bloom. This year has been a strange summer so far – lots of rain, heat and then cooler temps. We haven’t had much time to go out and sit and enjoy our deck. It’s been either too wet or too hot outside. Sigh!

I hope wherever you live in the world that you are enjoying your summer or whatever season you are in.

Our flowers have been doing well though. I enjoy sharing the beauty with you. I hope my photos will cheer you up if are feeling low. We all need a little cheering up and some beauty to enjoy in our lives.

I didn’t realize I had captured this bee in mid air! Amazon! He was headed toward the flower when I snapped this. Pretty cool, huh?

White Rose of Sharon

We have 17 Rose of Sharon bushes in and around our yard. They are just gorgeous. They vary from year to year in color. All depends upon the insects that pollinate them. They spread the pollen back and forth between the plants and we end up with some white, lavender, and others mixed with two colors on one bush. It’s amazing.

I love doing closeups of flowers. They are so incredible the closer you get.

Our circle of Petunias & Roses

At one time this circle was filled with all kinds of flowers. But this year we stopped planting there since it is so time consuming to water this area which is far from our front lawn. With all the rain we had so far this summer the Petunias came up again on their own accord and the roses are doing well. They were planted a couple of years ago and suddenly sprouted up in different colors to our delight.

There can never be too many roses! My favorite flower is a rose – all colors.

I love the Rose of Sharon bushes. All your flowers are so pretty.

  2. Jennie says:

Beautiful! Are you having problems with bunnies (or chipmunks) eating your flowers? We are, big time, and it hasn’t happened before.

    • jjspina says:

Thank you, Jennie. No problem because they eat all the seeds we have from bird feeders. Put up a bird feeder and they will not need to eat flowers. The birds drop a lot of seeds on the grow where the chipmunks feast. 🌸🥰🐿
