I am excited to announce that I have a new Fantasy Series coming soon – Book 1 will be published (fingers crossed) in August of 2021! There will be six books in the series. I wrote this story many years ago at the same time that I wrote my historical novel, Lubelia Alycea. I wrote these two books simultaneously. When I grew tired of writing about history I swapped over to the fantasy one. It was fun and stimulating at the same time. I found that my creativity was sparked even more when going between two completely different genres.
I am in the editing stages of Book 1 of the Fantasy Series now. It’s funny how one’s writing can change over the years as practice and knowledge of writing increases and improves. I have had to make many changes in my sentence structure, grammar and punctuation, and content. I hope to finish up soon and send it along to my Beta Readers. This is another different genre for me to share with them. I hope they like it.
A sneak peek of the cover will be provided as soon as my husband creates one for me. He is busily working on Book 6 of the dragon series so I hate to disturb him just yet. He has to create the cover for that book too. Poor guy. I am such a slave driver! Sigh! I may have to give him a raise but I need to sell more books first. So please help me out with that – buy more books soon! Ha!
Even though I have books for MG/PT/YA like the Davey & Derek Series and Abby & Holly Series, this new series will be for ages 13+ while the other two series are for ages 9-13. The first book can be read by 9-13 but the next books may not be suitable for them. Though there is so much violence on TV, on the news and in books that this series is mild in comparison. All my books for children and YA will never have any foul language. Even with my 18+ books I never use certain language since it disturbs me too. Parents will always feel good if their children read my books.
This series is still in my mind and not completely done in stone. I think ages 10+ could read the first book. But things may change in the succeeding books that will make them more suitable for 13+. As I write the other five books over the next year or so I will keep parents abreast about the content and whether it is safe for 10+ or not. I think this middle-grade age group needs to have more entertaining reading. As for the 13+ they need something that is not too grown up just yet but entertaining enough to keep their interest. I will do my best to entertain both age groups without alienating the parents with too much violence.
