A Gift from Above – Rainbows and a Night out with Friends!

Do you love rainbows? I think they are magical!

We went out to dinner with good friends (Fran & Jim) for the first time in well over a year to a lovely restaurant that serves delicious lamb, beef, fish and Lebanese food. It’s called the Phoenician Restaurant, located in Haverhill, MA. I love this restaurant! I feel doubly blessed to have had a fabulous meal with our special friends who have gotten us through this tough year in 2020! Thank you, Fran and Jim!

If you are looking for the best French fries, lamb, baked stuffed shrimp, rice pilaf and salad with mint, oil, garlic and lemon – go to the Phoenician Restaurant. I had 2 lamb chops, 2 baked stuffed shrimp, rice pilaf, Syrian bread, and 3 grape leaves! Wonderful meal! Of course I began with a glass of red sangria! Tasty! I packed up most of the lamb and rice for another meal. The rest I devoured! The restaurant is large with plenty of room to safely distance diners with a table left empty in between. They also have outside seating. It was a lovely warm night but we opted to sit inside out of the sun.

Getting back to rainbows, sorry I digress! Thinking of food does that to me! When we came out of the restaurant it had rained a little and up in the sky was a double rainbow. I heard someone exclaim, ‘look a rainbow!’ I caught my breath and pulled out my phone to snap a few. It was magnificent! My photos don’t do it justice. But, believe me, the colors were brilliant!

It was a wonderful way to end a delicious dinner with our special friends. It was so good to be out and about. We plan on doing that every weekend from now on to make up for all that we missed being stuck inside. We are fortunate to have spent the past year with these friends in each other’s homes for dinner. Now that we are fully vaccinated, we are feeling safer to get out with others but still wearing masks in and out of the restaurants and only taking them off, of course, to eat.

I hope that you and your family and friends are staying safe and well and still are cautious and careful about wearing your masks out. There are many who have not been vaccinated yet. Hopefully we will have herd immunity soon and that the doses we have been given provide the necessary efficacy and protection we need. God Bless!

If you would like to read more about rainbows go here. I like to think of rainbows as a gift from above. When we are down and think we are out a rainbow always picks us up and our spirits soar with it. How can you not feel joy and amazement looking at one?

I hope this post has lifted your spirits today. I want to say a special prayer for an online friend of mine, Debby Gies, who recently lost her husband. I will keep her in my daily prayers for strength to go on without him. Please pray for Debby. She is a lovely person and a wonderful author. May God bless you, Debby! Love and prayers going your way! Take care.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!
