Summer will soon be over!

All good things come to an end, sad to say! I’ve enjoyed the warm weather, but I do look forward to my favorite season, fall or autumn as some call it.

Fall in New England is beautiful. I hope we have a successful season this year. Some years we have no had the gorgeous colors as other years when the trees shed their greenery and put on their fall outfits.

I snapped some pictures of the flowers that are still blooming around my deck and yard before they disappear until next year. The Rose of Sharon bushes, all 20+ have attracted all kinds of birds, bees, hornets, dragonflies and butterflies. It has been a cornucopia of insects to watch. Loved it!

Some of these Rose of Sharon bushes were seen through windows in our house. They are in the front and sides of the house. We are nearly surrounded by all their beauty. It is quite a sight. Many times, I spot hummingbirds drinking the nectar. These amazing little birds are now gone. It is definitely getting cooler and they felt it and knew it was time to travel south. I will miss then until next spring.

The hibiscus above the gallery had a ton of buds coming but no flowers to show at the moment. I don’t know if they will blossom before it gets colder. By that time, we will bring it in for the winter and enjoy its flowers until they are no more. For some reason it didn’t blossom as much as it used to. It is after all over twenty years old. That must be pretty old for a hibiscus. Sigh!
