I wrote this book to begin a series dedicated to all the children out there who love dragons. I am a grownup who loves dragons! They are fascinating creatures – real or not? Believe what you want – but I believe that they did exist! Do you believe in dragons?
When I write my books for children I am a child once again. I believe in whatever I want as a child would. It is fun to create something that others can enjoy. There are six books in this series. Each book is in rhyme with important life lessons that children will learn as they have fun reading. Children will learn colors and letters. The characters are colorfully illustrated by my talented illustrator husband. He has brought my stories to life (16 books for children so far and counting)! Each dragon’s name begins with the letter ‘D’ and has his/her own poem. I have put two of the poems that go with Book 1 below.

This is a magical series about Drystan the dragon and his friends. These dragons are colorful, engaging and fun to read about. In Book 1 Drystan makes a new friend, Durward, who invites him to visit the Land of the Rainbows. While they are there they have an adventure. Find out what the dragons do to save the day.

You will be surprised at how intuitive children are and how closely they listen to a story being read to them. By asking them questions about what you read to them you are sparking their imagination, increasing their vocabulary, enabling them to be more creative and at the same time, sharing some important family time together. This reading time will bring you closer together as a family. It is a perfect time to snuggle and cuddle close. I always loved this time with my young children. I would watch their faces as they listened to a story. You could see how their minds were working out what they were hearing. It was a wonderful experience.
