It has been since March that I have been housebound during COVID-19. It feels like a lot longer though. I have gone out occasionally to the doctors when absolutely necessary and to having something fixed (my sewing machine). But each time I wore my trusty mask in and out of the buildings, offices until I got into my car.
I really hate these masks. I feel as if I will suffocate. It doesn’t help that I am a bit claustrophobic. Sigh! My husband does all the grocery shopping since I refuse to go where I have to wear my mask for more than half an hour. But John is a trooper and does it without a whimper or complaint. Good guy! Boy, am I lucky! It’s also because he likes to eat. I could skip a meal or eat skimpy but not him!!! Haha!
During this Stay-At-Home Directive I have completed many projects – cleaned out closets, cabinets, drawers. These were not fun but needed to be done. John worked on the garage and needs to complete the basement.
The fun things I completed were two sets of crocheted baby sets, one blue and the other pink which I previously shared in another post. But will share again here.

Published four books, two for young children (picture books), and two for MG/PT/YA.

This magical series is for kids PS-Grade 3! There are six books in the series with a different dragon introduced in each book plus Drystan – the star of the series. There are seven dragons in all – four are male and three are female.
It is a fun, educational series for children to learn letters, colors and good behavior, friendship, respect and kindness toward others. Check it out today! Your children will love the rhyming and descriptions of each dragon. There is a poem that introduces a new dragon to each book. All dragons’ names begin with the letter ‘D’ and their colors will be in brilliant shades of blue, green, red, purple, pink, orange and brown. A fun series for kids to enjoy and learn at the same time. This series will keep them occupied and happy all year round. Children will love reading these books and they may become their favorite books at bedtime and any time. The illustrations and covers were created by my husband, John.
Abby & Holly Series provides more fun and ghostly adventures with cousins, Abby & Holly, as they discover things in their old Victorian and go back to the past to solve mysteries. There are ghosts, a haunted house, time travel, mysteries, and magic. Life lessons will also be learned about friendship, family, respect, love and caring for one another, and bullying will never be accepted or tolerated! MG/PT/YA will be hooked and parents will feel good about the quality of books their children are reading! Adults are reading and enjoying them also!
John completed Book 3, Drystan the Dragon and Friends Series and I finished Book 6 of Abby & Holly Series. Both of these books will be coming out in July 2020. Of course we are in the editing stages on both books now but it won’t be long. Keep watch!!! I will do cover reveals in other posts of these new books.
I feel pure joy writing for children and hope with God’s help and blessing to continue to write many more fun adventures for children to read and enjoy. I do enjoy writing for MG/PT/YA and 18+ too!
I have another book already started – a romance/mystery which I hope to complete by the end of this year or beginning of the next. Then onto more books that are in different stages. Phew! I may still reach my goal of 40 or more books in a year or so.
Besides these projects I recently completed three tossed pillows for our basement room, reason why I had to get my sewing machine repaired. It decided to die on me right in the middle of these projects. Sigh! My machine is getting old just like me! All is fixed now but I am contemplating purchasing a new one later this year to do other projects more efficiently and easier.

Another project I have been working on since March is a Patriot’s afghan. John and I made a pattern on graph paper (not perfect but something to work from) of the Patriot’s logo and name. It has been quite a project! I work on it while I watch TV at night. I can’t sit still without always doing something to keep my hands and mind busy. The mind works overtime and get antsy if I do not do something. I will definitely share the completed project soon.
I have a new project coming in the mail soon. If it works out I will share it also. But, if it doesn’t, well, then you will never hear about it! Ha!
There is always another project that I will take on especially with all this time on my hands until life gets back to a new normal. I do miss going out to lunch or dinner with my husband and friends, seeing the family at cookouts on our deck and being able to go out to stores without so many restrictions and masks. I do a lot of FaceTiming with my kids and grandkids. I miss them so much!!
I pray that you are staying safe and well and will be able to get out more soon safely. We need to be smart about social distancing for a while longer and take all precautions as directed by our states, country. Take care, my friends!

Beautiful work, Janice! I tried to crochet some when I was young, I had no skills. Then I tried again a couple of times as an adult, and I was even worse. LOL. Hugs on the wing!
Thank you, Teagan! I do it to help keep my fingers flexible with Arthritis and it also is calming to my soul. 😘
