Dragons are here! A New Book coming in the Series in July 2020!

This magical series is for kids PS-Grade 3! There are six books in the series with a different dragon introduced in each book plus Drystan – the star of the series. There are seven dragons in all – four are male and three are female.

It is a fun, educational series for children to learn letters, colors and good behavior, friendship, respect and kindness toward others. Check it out today! Your children will love the rhyming and descriptions of each dragon. There is a poem that introduces a new dragon to each book. All dragons’ names begin with the letter ‘D’ and their colors will be in brilliant shades of blue, green, red, purple, pink, orange and brown. A fun series for kids to enjoy and learn at the same time. This series will keep them occupied and happy all year round. Children will love reading these books and they may become their favorite books at bedtime and any time. The illustrations and covers were created by my husband, John.

Here are the dragons’ poems from Books 1 & 2.

I think I covered just about every Amazon site where my books are listed. I hope you will enjoy perusing my books on all sites wherever you are located. If you are looking for some special books that carry life lessons for your children plus fun adventures that they will love – go to any of these sites and check out my books.

I had so much fun writing this series. All the books are completed in verse and now need my husband’s magic touch. He will work on two more books next year and the last one the following year unless I can convince him to do all three next year.

This year has been a strange year with the Pandemic keeping us housebound. This has enabled us to work on more books than we would normally complete in one year. At this writing we published four books with two more coming in July of 2020. That is a record for me! I planned on publishing four books – already made my goal! Hurray!

Thank you for your kind support and for perusing my books, blog and website. Enjoy reading these books to your children. You will be surprised that you will love them too! They will leave you with a nice feeling about being kind and caring to others. In this tumultuous time in our world we need more of this. Let’s teach our children these important lessons early and often to make them better people and citizens.

WATCH FOR BOOK 3 IN THE DRYSTAN THE DRAGON AND FRIENDS SERIES which will have a very important lesson in loving oneself!

Deanie Humphrys-Dunne5.0 out of 5 stars Full of fun and learning for the little onesReviewed in the United States on February 5, 2020Renowned author Janice Spina has created another masterpiece for the little ones. They’ll love reading or hearing about two dragon friends who go on an adventure. Readers will meet Drystan, a bright red dragon and his new friend, Durward, who is blue. What happens to Durward when he’s excited? What do the dragons do on their adventure? They have an opportunity to be heroes by helping a group of little birds. There is no doubt children will love this tale and want to read it again and again. They are sure to enjoy the colorful illustrations by Janice’s as well.. Highly recommended. * I received a free copy from the author and chose to review it without compensation.

Sara1235.0 out of 5 stars Dragons to the Rescue!Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2020″Drystan the Dragon and Friends” is author Janice Spina’s new series of fun children’s books.

In the first volume, “Drystan and Durward Save the Day,” Drystan, the main character, meets a new friend and together they go on an adventure. Though the red and blue dragons had a destination in mind, they altered their trip to help those in need. This lovely story with its good message is enhanced by colorful illustrations drawn by the author’s husband, John Spina. The Spinas’ successful collaboration is highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wholesome entertainment for young children.Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2020Drystan and his new friend, Durward, are off to have an adventure, but along the way, they stop to help some little birds. Who doesn’t love dragons! And they come in different colors! Drystan is red and Durward is blue. Find out what happens when the dragons are happy. Why are they flying to the Land of Rainbows? This story is about the importance of having friends and helping others. It is a wonderful tale written in rhyme that will appeal to young children, whether they are read to or able to read themselves. Janice Spina has clearly remained true to her belief that books for children should be wholesome and teach life lessons. The book is colorfully illustrated by her husband, John Spina. I highly recommend Drystan the Dragon and Friends Series, Book 1 Drystan and Durward Save the Day.

Mrs.D.5.0 out of 5 stars The Land of RainbowsReviewed in the United States on June 15, 2020Two dragon friends, Drystan (a red dragon) and his friend Durward (a blue dragon), and one big adventure in the beautiful Land of Rainbows! These two colorful characters will capture a child’s imagination and teach them something really neat: the true meaning of friendship. I hope that the imaginative illustrations and the fun storyline will awaken the desire of kids to help others.

Through the strong narratives, the Spinas convey a great message of kindness, caring, and loving the person next to you. It is a great reminder to the world—improve your act every chance you get, because it always pays to be kind and sensitive instead of mean and cruel.

Another wonderful book by the talented team of Janice and John Spina, which teaches the lesson of humanity and understanding. It’s one that young children must learn at a very early age.

REVIEWS OF BOOK 2:

Sara1235.0 out of 5 stars To Be Different is Okay!Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2020Author Janice Spina’s second book in her new series, “Drystan the Dragon and Friends” is a fine addition to her ever-growing list of books written for enriching the lives of young readers.

In the second volume, “Damara Helps Drystan Find His Roar”, Damara, a green dragon who is different than others, does not worry about what people say. She knows she’s not like everyone else, but owns her differences and is proud of who she is. This terrific message intertwines nicely with the little tale of Damara’s encounter with Drystan, who is also taught a lesson, courtesy of his new friend.

The illustrations are lovely, created by the author’s partner in life and work, Mr. John Spina. The terrific team’s growing library is impressive and recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Message of FriendshipReviewed in the United States on June 15, 2020The Message of Friendship
What do compassion and kindness mean? I hope young readers can find the answer in a new series, “Drystan the Dragon and Friends.”

In this second book by the Spinas, “Damara Helps Drystan Find His Roar,” children are in for a nice surprise. They will meet Damara, a cool green dragon, who likes to help others. She teaches Drystan, who lost his roar how to get it back. She embraces his condition and sees her new friend for what he is.

It is a wonderful message to children, cleverly embedded into the story and lovingly illustrated to help young readers remember that we are all different, but equally important to the world.

The authors have created a sweet, simple little tale, which is easy to understand as well as explain to a young child: accept people for what they are. I love this story because it opens up a very needed discussion about acceptance and friendship. I am sure children will remember the valuable lesson this book conveys. Another great teaching story!

I feel pure joy writing for children and hope with God’s help and blessing to continue to write many more fun adventures for children to read and enjoy. I do enjoy writing for MG/PT/YA and 18+ too!

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!
