I am excited to receive these reviews of my newest children’s books in the series, Drystan the Dragon and Friends Books 1 & 2.
Writing this series has been so much fun for young children PS-Grade 3. My inspiration came from my grandson’s preschool classroom last year. I was there to read Louey the Lazy Elephant to the kids. They loved Louey and I enjoyed being with them and watching their faces as they listened to the story unfold.
After story time I asked the two teachers what the children like to read. They both agreed that it was anything to do with dragons. I promised to come back when I had the first dragon book completed. Unfortunately, I have not been able to be back since I completed the first book in February 2020 and the second one in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 Virus since school has been cancelled for the rest of the year. Maybe next year I will stop by and visit with the kids and read a book. However, my grandson is now in Kindergarten and no longer at that school.
This magical series is for kids PS-Grade 3! There are six books in the series with a different dragon introduced in each book plus Drystan – the star of the series. There are seven dragons in all – four are male and three are female.
It is a fun, educational series for children to learn letters, colors and good behavior, friendship, respect and kindness toward others. Check it out today! Your children will love the rhyming and descriptions of each dragon. There is a poem that introduces a new dragon to each book. All dragons’ names begin with the letter ‘D’ and their colors will be in brilliant shades of blue, green, red, purple, pink, orange and brown. A fun series for kids to enjoy and learn at the same time. This series will keep them occupied and happy all year round. Children will love reading these books and they may become their favorite books at bedtime and any time. The illustrations and covers were created by my husband, John.

Sara1235.0 out of 5 stars To Be Different is Okay!Reviewed in the United States on April 13, 2020Author Janice Spina’s second book in her new series, “Drystan the Dragon and Friends” is a fine addition to her ever-growing list of books written for enriching the lives of young readers.
In the second volume, “Damara Helps Drystan Find His Roar”, Damara, a green dragon who is different than others, does not worry about what people say. She knows she’s not like everyone else, but owns her differences and is proud of who she is. This terrific message intertwines nicely with the little tale of Damara’s encounter with Drystan, who is also taught a lesson, courtesy of his new friend.
The illustrations are lovely, created by the author’s partner in life and work, Mr. John Spina. The terrific team’s growing library is impressive and recommended.
