Puffer the Boxfish is not Well!

At this writing our fish, Puffer the Boxfish, is not doing well. He is suffering from something and his days are numbered. My husband has been putting him in a bucket with a treatment for sick fish and letting him bathe there for 15-20 a couple of times a day. Once he takes him out he seems a little better and his eyes are not as cloudy but soon he returns once again to his lethargic state.

If you have fish for pets you know how upsetting it is to not be able to help them or ease their suffering. All we can do is watch him until he dies. I will shed tears for Puffer. He has been with us for several years.

I recently was a guest on Tory Zigler’s blog with Puffer as he was interviewed. It was a fun experience for Puffer and me. Here is the link –https://jemsbooks.blog/2020/03/09/meet-puffer-the-boxfish/

Healthy Puffer
Puffer and Friends

The above photos show Puffer in good health. So sad! We are both quite upset about him. It’s difficult to lose a pet no matter what kind of pet you have.

Please check out his interview and say a prayer for Puffer. Here are some photos I’ve taken lately of him still active.

Puffer in his therapeutic bathe

Thank you for any prayers you say for Puffer. He has been a fun character to watch in our 90 gallon fish tank. I’m sure all the other fish will miss him. But now they will have more food and won’t have to fight over it with him. Sigh!

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

Prayers for Puffer! Do you not have a vet that treats fish? Ours handles everything!

Poor puffer passed. I don’t know if they treat tropical fish. It’s difficult to transport them there. The fish would probably die in route. Too much stress. 😢😘

So sorry to hear that, Janice. We can become attached to animals, even ones below the surface of the water. I once had an iguana that loved to be petted.

Aww how sweet! I had an angel fish that liked to be petted too! He would come up to the surface when I fed him and swim against my fingers back and forth! 💕
