Two New Books Coming from Jemsbooks!

With all the extra time I have on my hands I have been avidly working on Book 5 of Abby & Holly Series and Book 2 of Drystan the Dragon and Friends. I officially completed Book 5 but have plenty of editing to do before sending it along to my beta readers.

There are several steps to completing the process after editing (that is) before publishing. If you want to know about this. Here they are:

  1. Apply for an ISBN from Bowker
  2. Apply for an LCCN (Library of Congress number)
  3. Copyright the work
  4. Download book to Kindle and Amazon paperback
  5. Review all paperwork and downloads from Amazon
  6. Finally e-book and paperback are published if all is correct

I am fortunate to have my husband to do the illustrations, covers and collating of all the pages of the children’s book. That takes a little while to get just right. As for all other books I do format and download them myself. They are easy peasy.

I will share the covers of both books when it gets closer to having them ready for publication. Your children are going to love the new dragon book. I love all the illustrations that John created to bring my story to life.

Here is the first book in the series for you and your children to read together and enjoy. They are written in rhyme with life lessons and fun adventures that will make children laugh out load. Enjoy! They will all be available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble soon.

Blurb:

This is a magical series about Drystan the dragon and his friends. These dragons are colorful, engaging and fun to read about. They teach children the importance of friendship, caring for one another, being kind to others, and it’s okay to be different. All dragons are of different colors and their names begin with the letter ‘D’ – a fun way for young children to learn the letter ‘D’ and colors.
In Book 1 Drystan makes a new friend, Durward, who invites him to visit the Land of the Rainbows. While they are there they have an adventure. Find out what the dragons do to save the day.

Here are the other books in the Abby & Holly Series.

Abby & Holly Series Books 1-4

Blurb: Abby & Holly Series Book 1

This is Book 1 of a series of Abby & Holly books. These two girls were first introduced in Book 5 of the Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Series.
The girls are first cousins on their mothers’ side. They moved to the quiet town of Lindon, New Hampshire and live in a grand old Victorian which is haunted.
The cousins are excited about attending the 6th grade dance. When their friend, Justine, is bullied, Abby and Holly, along with the help of a ghost and Davey & Derek, work together to formalize a plan to put a stop to the bullying.

I feel pure joy writing for children and hope with God’s help and blessing to continue to write many more fun adventures for children to read and enjoy. I do enjoy writing for MG/PT/YA and 18+ too!

I hope everyone is staying well and safe in their homes and practicing social distancing elsewhere. The only reason to be out during this time is to purchase food or medicine.

Keep reading with and to your children to help them get through this pandemic. If you keep their minds busy reading they will be too involved with the books to see what is happening around them We don’t want our children to get stressed out about this. It is difficult for adults to deal with after all.

We are staying home, keeping our minds busy creating books, reading tons of books, exercising on our equipment and watching a lot of TV. I am also crocheting every night. Made a baby afghan, sweater and hat and starting on another set. I will be prepared if there are any new babies in the family. If not, I will donate these to someone who is having a baby eventually.

Another way to keep your mind active and sound is to do puzzles. My husband and I love to do jigsaw puzzles. We recently had two sports puzzles framed. They look amazing! Check them out here.

To cheer you up here are a couple of my plants that are now flowering – a hibiscus (salmon color) and a cactus with white flowers. I was thrilled to see both of them flowering in spite of what we are all going through. I felt a little bit of joy growing inside of me because of this. I hope you will feel some joy and hope that all will be well soon. God bless everyone. Take care, be safe and stay well! Much love and blessings going your way!
