Book 5 of Mysteries for Boys & Girls for Great Summer Reading!

Here is Book 5 of the Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Series, The Case of the Sad Mischievous Ghost. I will be sharing and showcasing all six books one at a time, each in their own post. If you haven’t read these yet please share with your MG/PT/YA for fun adventures in summer or anytime reading. This book won a Pinnacle Book Achievement Award and a Silver Medal in Authorsdb Cover Contest.

I wrote this series for my two middle grandsons who love to read about adventures and mysteries. They are my inspiration to write.

These books are enjoyed by both girls and boys and also parents and grandparents who pass them on to their children. My husband, John, is the illustrator and cover creator for these and all my books. This series has been compared to the Hardy Boys’ Books.

Available also on Barnes & Noble all Jemsbooks. Davey & Derek Book 5.

BLURB:

Twins Davey and Derek Donato are enlisted by two new characters, Abby and her cousin Holly, to assist them in finding and capturing the spooky beings that haunt their house.

When the boys visit Abby’s house they discover that this old Victorian holds many secrets and shocking revelations.

Davey and Derek soon find that they need the assistance of their Great Aunt Gigi to handle these mischievous phantoms.

I have put in an introduction in each of these books to help children understand the characters and the story line. Each book is a stand alone story with a satisfying ending that will leave children feeling happy and wanting to read another one. There are life lessons to be learned as children read that will please parents.

I believe children of all ages need good, wholesome and clean books to read that will encourage them to want to read more. Reading is good for everyone’s health by bolstering up confidence, spurns creativity and memory, eases stress and chronic pain and makes you feel happier. It’s also an escape from troubles and the craziness in this world around us. Get healthier and start reading!

5.0 out of 5 starsAnother Winner!August 9, 2017Format: Kindle EditionThe wonderful and prolific author, Janice Spina, continues to entertain children with another terrific installment in the Davey and Derek Junior Detectives series, “The Case of the Sad Mischievous Ghost.” In this, the latest installment, Ms. Spina introduces the twins’ new cousins, Abby and Holly, who moved into a neighboring house that is haunted by ghosts. The frightened girls entreat the help of the now famous junior detectives. The twins, Davey and Derek, are not only excited about their new assignment but are also happy for the friendships developing between themselves and the lovely cousins. The story is most engaging and will entertain young readers going along for the ride, as the junior detectives, helped by their fabulous Aunt Gigi, tackle this new adventure.
Highly recommended!!

Mrs.D.5.0 out of 5 starsGhostly Mystery…February 8, 2018Format: Kindle EditionBoo! Another amusing middle grade mystery from accomplished author Janice Spina! The author’s standard for instilling the love of reading in children is impressive and proven.

Davey and Derek are two humble detectives who are very thoughtful of their friends and the people around them. Always helpful, they don’t hesitate to step in when their friend Abby announces that something unusual is happening in their old Victorian house. The twins immediately jump on the new case. What would an old house be without a ghost?

As in the previous books in this series, “The Case of the Sad Mischievous Ghost” meets the readers’ expectations. The young detectives face some challenges while unraveling the ghostly mystery, but with help from their mysterious Aunt Gigi and some other friends, they untangle it very professionally.

The twins are growing with her stories, and surprisingly they are that age when boys are noticing girls … and sweet friendships are developing between the twins and the pretty cousins.

Deanie Humphrys-Dunne5.0 out of 5 starsA wonderful mystery novel for young readers!July 10, 2017Format: Kindle EditionJanice Spina is such a versatile, talented author. I loved her new book, “The Case of the Mischievous Ghost.” The twins accepted their new case when their friends, Abby and Holly told them strange things were happening in the house. This time, junior detective twins Davey and Derek, set out to solve the mystery of ghosts in an beautiful old house. Were the ghosts really there? If so, why and how could they make them leave? They certainly had some challenges to solve this mystery. Davey and Derek studied ghosts, and definitely needed help from their magical Aunt Gigi. Young readers will love this mystery and they’ll be anxious to keep turning those pages to find out what happens next. This is a fantastic middle grade book, which I highly recommend.
