SEQUEL TO HUNTING MARIAH COMING FROM JEMSBOOKS!
For all you readers who have requested this sequel, MARIAH’S REVENGE, is coming soon. I am presently in my last edit after all my beta readers gave their feedback. I hope to complete this edit by the end of this week and then onto publishing. My husband is working on the cover now. Watch for a COVER REVEAL soon!
I dare you to read, if you haven’t read HUNTING MARIAH yet, here are the links. PLEASE DON’T GIVE AWAY THE ENDING!
If you would like an autographed copy of Hunting Mariah, original cover (with knife), please contact me at jjspina@myfairpoint.net. There are a limited amount of these left. The new cover is all you will find on my Amazon page.
Be ready to be shocked and surprised over the twists and turns and ending of the first book and the new book! I did enjoy putting these things in to delight the reader who thinks he or she can figure out the ending or unlock the mystery. There are also some light moments in this book which I put in for my own sake. I think you might appreciate them too.
Please let me share with you how I feel about this sequel. I have to admit this book, along with the first book, have taken a toll on me. They have completely drained me due to the subject matter. I feel uncomfortable with violence. For those of you who are waiting for this book, I hope you enjoy it! It will be my last book in this genre. I will continue to provide mysteries without all the gore and violence. It is too upsetting to me and my beta readers.
I made sure to bring closure to everything from the first book. There will be nothing to continue on in this storyline.
Most of the time I hate to leave my characters in my stories. I develop a bond with them and wish them well and want to continue creating more stories about them. But this time, I feel relief to let these characters go. They have tested my patience and my stamina to go any further with them.
Those of you reading this must think this is strange. To me it is too. I have never felt like this about any of my other books. While I was writing these two books I was depressed, tired, frustrated, angry with an all over feeling of melancholy until I finished them. To read them again and again for editing brings back these strong feelings.
Authors out there who write violent storylines, how do you feel when you write this type of book?
I look forward with great joy to continuing my middle-grade/preteen/YA series which I began a few months ago. I feel joy, lightheartedness, and free when I write in this genre. I have found my niche.
Please feel free to let me know how you feel about this new book and the first one, Hunting Mariah. What do you think of my MG/PT/YA books in comparison? Do you see what I mean?
There are all kinds of books written in a multitude of genres to cover all tastes in reading. I hope you lovers of mysteries with a violent nature will love these two books. Reviews are welcome and greatly appreciated!
Now for those of you who long for me to get back to my children’s books and MG/PT/YA, I promise to get right back to them once Mariah’s Revenge is completed.
Thank you for stopping by and for your continued support! I couldn’t do this without you readers, fans and friends!

Janice
Janice, congratulations on the nearly completing this novel, although I am sorry it’s taken a toll on you. I think I would feel the same writing gore and violence and typically stay away from writing this style … having said that I can’t wait to read your first one of these! Look forward to the cover reveal!
Thank you, Annika! Hope you like it! I think the second shows an improvement in my writing style. 💕
Woo-hoo! Way to go Janice! Hugs.
Thank you, Teagan! 💕
It is amazing the connection you can make with a character while writing, Janice. I do understand your feelings of depression.
Thank you, Robbie. 😘
Yay, that is wonderful
Bravo, Janice! You persisted, and that’s just awesome. I can only imagine the emotions endured from writing these difficult scenes. I look forward to promoting your finished work. Cheers! 🙂
Thanks, Natalie! I appreciate your support! 🤗
