Limericks – Jemsbooks – Clarence Henry the Hermit Crab!

Here is a Limerick for one of book #10 (2018), Clarence Henry the Hermit Crab, about a pet we had in one of our fish tanks (saltwater). Clarence was quite a character and fearless and determined to do his job and do it well as he took care of cleaning our tank. We miss him and the fabulous job he did.

I have had lots of fun writing limericks for my previous books. I just had to do one for Clarence Henry. I don’t want him to feel left out.

If you are just stopping by and would like to read the limericks for my other books go to Louey, Ricky, Lamby, Jerry, Jesse, Broose, Sebastian, Colby, Jeffrey.

LIMERICK

CLARENCE HENRY THE HERMIT CRAB

There once was a hermit crab named Clarence Henry.

Who lived in a tank with fish aplenty.

He came to his new home missing a leg and a claw.

But fortunately for this there is no law.

Now Clarence Henry stays deep in his shell.

Until one day he’ll be whole again and well.

BLURB:

Clarence Henry is different from other hermit crabs. He came to his new home minus one claw and a leg. He needs to protect himself until he can grow new appendages. Will Clarence Henry be able to meet the challenges in his new water world?

Clarence Henry was a real aquatic hermit crab who lived in a saltwater fish tank in our home. We watched him interact with the other creatures in the tank.

He was resilient, intelligent, and a joy to have as a pet. We took some photos of him as he grew his claw and leg and changed shells.

We shared these photos and facts about hermit crabs in the back of the book. I hope you will enjoy them. This book will make a wonderful resource for classrooms.

Get your copy of Clarence Henry today also on Barnes & Noble

All Jemsbooks children’s books are written in rhyme with life lessons. In Clarence Henry children will learn that it is important to work hard and not to let anything prevent you from doing the best job you can at everything you undertake. Also, it is okay to be different from others and always believe in yourself.

I love writing stories for children about baby animals that young children can relate to. I hope your children will love Clarence Henry and all my other books and learn the valuable life lessons while they have fun reading.

Reading is important not only to keep your children’s reading levels up all year long but also it can increase their vocabulary, spark their creativity, enhance their health and wellbeing, and encourage them to become lovers of books. Let’s bring up a generation of readers and thinkers who will become successful and confident adults one day.

Please consider giving books to all the children on your list for all occasions. There is nothing better than to see a child’s eyes light up when you give him/her a book – even more so when you read the book to them. You are giving them so much more than you could ever imagine, e.g., you spark their imagination, heighten their creativity, lift their spirits, increase their vocabulary, open up a whole new world to them, enhance their health and wellbeing and encourage them to love reading. The gift of a book is worth more than gold to our children, grandchildren. Keep reading and gifting books to children. Let’s bring up a generation of readers and thinkers. Limericks – Jemsbooks – Jeffrey the Jittery Giraffe!

I wrote this story after meeting a woman at a book signing who told me about her nervous grandson named Jeffrey. She asked if I would write a story for him. I agreed and tried to reach her at the phone number she gave me at that time but she was not available. I left a message for her but she never returned my call, sad to say. Since I couldn’t share this book with her Jeffrey I hope it helps other children to overcome their fears as in the story.

Jeffrey the Jittery Giraffe

I have come to the end of my limericks for Jemsbooks’ Children’s Books with my ninth published book, Jeffrey the Jittery Giraffe (2017). If you would like to read the other limericks go to Louey, Ricky, Lamby, Jerry, Jesse, Broose, Sebastian, and Colby.

Limerick

Jeffrey the Jittery Giraffe

There once was a giraffe named Jeffrey.

Loud noises and sounds made him jittery.

His mother told him, “You’re strong

No matter what might go wrong.”

Now Jeffrey is no longer stressed and jittery.

Jeffrey is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble.

Blurb:

Jeffrey is a nervous giraffe due to a terrible storm on the day of his birth. He remembers that day and is frightened of any kind of noise or unexpected things happening to him. His mother tells him that he is stronger than he thinks.

One day Jeffrey meets another giraffe who needs his help. Read this story in rhyme and find out what important lesson Jeffrey learns when he thinks of others before himself.

Jemsbooks’ children’s books are written in rhyme with life lessons. These books instill and promote good behavior and values in children. Jeffrey teaches children to be kind and helpful to others and always believe in yourself. Also, always listen to your mother; she knows best!

Limerick – Jemsbooks – Colby the Courageous Cat!

I wrote this story in memory of my daughter’s cat, Colby. He was a fearless cat who loved being outside and staying away for a day or so as he hunted all the animals in our neighborhood. We used to worry about him at first when he didn’t come home but we got used to his reckless way and carefree attitude. He only came back when he wanted some attention, love and something else to eat.

Colby the Courageous Cat

Another limerick for you to enjoy, hopefully!! Here is the limerick for my eighth children’s book, Colby the Courageous Cat (2016). If you would like to read the other limericks, go to Louey, Ricky, Lamby, Jerry, Jesse, Broose and Sebastian.

Limerick

Colby the Courageous Cat

There once was a cat named Colby,

Who was the largest cat of the family.

He took care of his siblings

In spite of their quibbling.

Now he is the favored cat of his family.

Colby is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other online stores. Colby won a Pinnacle Book Achievement Award!

Blurb:

Colby is one of a litter of four kittens. The kittens get into all kinds of trouble. Being the biggest and strongest, Colby’s mother expects him to watch over the smaller kittens and keep them safe. Read and find out what Colby does to meet his mother’s expectations.

Jemsbooks’ children’s books are written in rhyme with life lessons that promote good values and behavior in children. Colby teaches children that family is important and that you should love and care for your siblings.

Colby was my daughter’s cat for nine years. He was quite the adventurous soul, staying outside to hunt and only coming home to receive a warm meal and pat on his head.

Limerick – Jemsbooks – Sebastian Meets Marvin the Monkey!

This book was written for my grandson when he was three years old. His photo is on the back cover. He has a stuffed monkey that he always carried around with him and slept with too. He is not almost 11 years old and still my precious little one. He is the youngest of all five grandchildren. They are all so special and precious to me.

Sebastian Meets Marvin the Monkey

Here’s another limerick to enjoy from Jemsbooks’ Children’s Books. I have been having a grand old time writing these limericks each day. I hope you are enjoying them too!

This one is about my seventh published book, Sebastian Meets Marvin the Monkey (2015).

Limerick

Sebastian Meets Marvin the Monkey

There once was a boy named Sebastian,

Who visited the zoo with his radio, a distraction.

The music the monkeys heard

Made their dancing quite absurd.

Now the animals are having fun with Sebastian.

Here is another version:

There once was a monkey named Marvin,

Who for love and respect was starvin’.

When along came a boy

with a musical toy

and now Marvin is no longer starvin’.

Sorry, these limericks can get a little silly at times!

Sebastian is also available on  Jemsbooks and Barnes & Noble

Blurb:

When a little boy, Sebastian, goes to the zoo he meets Marvin the monkey. Sebastian loves monkeys and likes to watch them climb the trees. Something amazing happens when Sebastian’s toy phone suddenly plays music.

Jemsbooks young children’s books have life lessons within the stories that promote good values and behavior in children. Sebastian teaches children the importance of being kind and respectful toward animals. This is a fun book for preschool children. It’s like a dance party which they can get up and take part! Check it out today.

This book was dedicated to my youngest grandson, Sebastian, who has his own stuffed monkey which he treasures.

Limerick – Jemsbooks – Jesse the Precocious Polar Bear!

Many of my books are dedicated to someone I met or know. Jesse was written for a young boy that I met many years ago while vacationing in Aruba. I started talking to him while I was in the water and asked him what his favorite animal was. He said, Polar Bear! I thereafter told him that I write children’s books and that I would write one just for him about a polar bear. He was surprised to hear this and even more surprised when I brought it with me the following year that we were in Aruba. His family vacations there every year as we do. He was thrilled! There is a photo of him in my book wearing a wide smile!

Jesse the Precocious Polar Bear

This is a post I wrote in 2017 about my children’s book, Jesse the Precocious Polar Bear. Now is the time to stock up for the summer with fun books for your children before the summer is over that will instill in them good behavior. Happy Reading! Did you know that Reading is good for your health? It really is!

I’m having a wonderful time writing limericks for my nine young children’s books! I hope you are enjoying them too! If you missed the previous ones go to Louey, Ricky, Lamby, and Jerry.

Here’s the next limerick for my fifth published book, Jesse the Precocious Polar Bear (2014).

Jesse the Precocious Polar Bear

There once was a Polar Bear named Jesse,
Who only wanted to have a special bestie.
He saved a little seal
From being a meal.
Now his kindness earned a friendship for Jesse.

IMG_4903

Jesse the Precocious Polar Bear is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other online stores.

Blurb:

Jesse is a precocious and very intelligent polar bear. He likes to learn about everything but what polar bears are supposed to know. Jesse has a couple of surprising adventures and learns an important lesson.

Jemsbooks’ children’s books are written in rhyme with life lessons. The stories help to instill in children the importance of being polite, respectful and kind toward others. Jesse teaches children that friends are important and that kindness towards others has its own reward.

This book was dedicated to a little boy I met while on vacation in Aruba four years ago. He was talking to me while we were in the water and I told him I write children’s books. I asked him which animal was his favorite. He responded, “Polar bear.” I promised to write a book about a polar bear just for him. Well, here it is! He did love it!

I WAS SCAMMED!

A frightening thing happened to me recently! While I was trying to sign up for a book signing at a local venue I sent a DM to two people who were listed under the venue. I heard from one of them shortly thereafter.

Now begins the craziness! I explained that I wanted to sign up for this fair at a local place (I will not mention or defame the place). They asked for my name, address, phone number and business which I gave in order to sign up. I asked for more information about the venue, price, table and chair availability, etc. They sent along a list of prices, etc. I next asked for how to pay. They listed several options – PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, etc.

I preferred to use the first one and said so. They then sent me an address. I proceeded to go to PP and put in the address. It didn’t go through for some reason. They gave me another address with the same result, then another and one more with the negative results. Thank goodness! They requested that I put it through friends and family. That is strange too!

I questioned why they kept giving me more addresses. It didn’t make sense. They apologized and proceeded to push me to try Zelle or another form with no results. I think I had my guardian angel looking over my shoulder keeping these transactions from working! Phew! I do keep checking these places to ensure nothing went through! All clear!!

I sent them a message of my negative results. Surprisingly they requested I go to a local store and obtain an Apple Card. This was even stranger. I mentioned I knew what went wrong with my transactions but refused to explain and said, I would get back to them later. They wanted to know what went wrong.

While this was going on I received a DM from the second person I had contacted per the venue info. This person gave me different information. I explained to them that I had already spoken with another person about this same thing and the info they gave me was different. The second person wanted to know what the information was. I sent a copy of what the first person sent me for prices, etc. The second person said it was a scam. I thanked them and left. I was fearful of signing up with this other person with the same results!

The next day I contacted the venue but no one was there, just a recording to call a person about the fair, which I did. I had to leave a message with the hope that they would call me back. I am waiting to hear from them and will let you know what transpired. I probably won’t be going to this fair since my husband is still upset about the whole thing. He doesn’t want me to go online anymore to find venues to enter. Sigh! He may be right. My BP has risen over the past couple of days – not a good thing!

Now I am waiting to hear from the venue so that they will know there is a scam going on about their fair. I don’t want others to suffer the same experience that I did.

I have been scammed before a few years ago while I was paying a bill online with a caller to an internet company when someone else came on the line and took our payment. Well, this person who took the payment was a scammer, we found out later. Our bank, thankfully, stopped the payment and cancelled our credit card! Phew!

Another time, many years ago, someone tried to file for taxes under my name. I took care of that quickly by reporting to my bank, police dept., and tax adviser. That will not happen again! Fingers crossed!

Please be aware that there are scammers out there who are clever in many ways. They latch onto venues like this and divert unsuspecting people to their site to pay. Be watchful and alert to any strange requests.

These people do have my name, address, phone number and business name. I’m sure they will be looking me up to find other ways to scam me in the future. I will be watchful and leery of everything.

It’s a sad world we live in when we have to be careful of everything we say and do or who we correspond with for things like this. I feel vulnerable and frightened now to do anything.

On a happy note I put this butterfly here to cheer me up and hopefully you too! I definitely had an angel watching over me – maybe it was Branyrd! Thank you, God, whoever you sent to watch over this naive person who can’t imagine people doing such evil, selfish things.

Thank you for listening to my tirade. You can imagine how I feel – vulnerable and ashamed that I was so gullible. Sigh! Come back again for the results of my call. I hope they call me soon. I am on tenterhooks and will soon be biting my nails (which I never do)!

I will go exercise now to expel all this stress and anger and then relax and work on my WIP. That always takes my mind off of such things like this. Take care, stay vigilant, my friends.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

Limerick – Jemsbooks – Lamby the Lonely Lamb!

I wrote this book for my granddaughter when she was just a toddler. She always carried her lamby everywhere she went and slept with it too. She was happy to receive this book and proudly showed it to all her friends. There is a photo of her on the back and inside the story. She was thrilled to have her own book!

Lamby Word Art

This is a post I wrote in 2017 about my book, Lamby the Lonely Lamb. Give your children some fun summer reading that will help instill good behavior at the same time. Happy Reading! Reading is good for your health! Did you know that?

Here is the third limerick for my third published book (2014) – Lamby the Lonely Lamb. Go to Louey’s limerick here, Ricky’s limerick here.

Limerick

Lamby the Lonely Lamb

There once was a lamb named Lamby,

Who had no friends or family.

He fell into purple dye.

And he started to cry.

Until a girl took him home to her family.

Lamby is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other online stores.

Lamby won a Mom’s Choice Award in 2014.

BLURB:

Lamby is a very different lamb because of his color. He is very lonely and only wants to be accepted by the other lambs. Find out what lesson Lamby learns when a little girl, Leah, comes to the farm where Lamb lives.

Jemsbooks instill good behavior in young children by repetition and rhyming. Children will have fun reading while they learn how to behave politely and with respect to others.

Lamby was written especially for my granddaughter, Leah. She requested that I write a story about her precious little stuffed animal, Lamby, and make him purple! Well, it was quite a challenge but I came through. She was thrilled and excited when Lamby won a Mom’s Choice Award!

Limerick – Jemsbooks – Ricky the Rambunctious Raccoon!

Ricky Word Art
Word Art – Ricky the Rambunctious Raccoon

This is a part of a post I wrote back in 2017 for my book, Ricky the Rambunctious Raccoon. I hope you enjoy this limerick and all the others I will be reposting soon.

This is the perfect time to choose your children’s summer reading. Each of my children’s books carries life lessons that help instill good behavior in children. Happy Reading! Did you know that reading is good for your health?

After reading a limerick on a friend’s website I decided to try my hand at limericks for each of my children’s books. I hope you enjoy them each day.

Read Louey the Lazy Elephant’s limerick here.

Second post features my second published (2013) book, Ricky the Rambunctious Raccoon.

LIMERICK

RICKY THE RAMBUNCTIOUS RACCOON

There once was a raccoon named Ricky,

Who foraged without his mother too quickly.

He ran into a skunk

Into a lake he did dunk

Now Ricky’s feeling a little bit sickly!

Available also on Barnes & Noble and other onlines stores.

BLURB:

Ricky is a rambunctious or very active raccoon who likes to wander around to find something new to eat. One night during his foraging for food Ricky runs into all kinds of trouble. Will Ricky get home safely? Will he learn his lesson to listen to his mother?

All Jemsbooks’ children’s book have life lessons within the stories. Children will learn that it is important to always listen to one’s mother and when you are young never venture out alone.

Jemsbooks instill good behavior in young children by repetition and rhyming. Children will have fun reading while they learn how to behave politely and with respect to others.

Check out the lovely reviews on Amazon:

I wrote this story because I know how children love all kinds of animals. I wanted them to feel comfortable and incorporated some humor into this rhyming story to keep them engaged. My husband’s beautiful illustrations really brought the story to life. Kids will love this story and request this story at bedtime again and again.

Watch for more limericks of my other children’s books. I hope you will introduce your children to Jemsbooks children’s books today to get them reading and loving every minute of it. If children enjoy books like these they will be encouraged to put down the Xbox, video games and other media that is mindless and doesn’t help increase their reading levels, spark their creativity, add to their vocabulary and promote good health and wellbeing.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Come back again soon.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!
