New additions to the saltwater fish tank!

I want to introduce the newest additions to our saltwater fish tank. Introducing –

Dispar Anthias – commonly known as Madder Seaperch

Red Star Scooter Blenny

Carpenter’s Flasher Wrasse

Sand Sifting Starfish

Here are a few photos of the new fish. The only one I could not find was the Starfish. It buried himself in the sand. I will try to catch a photo of it when it surfaces.

I took these different angles of the fish tank trying to find the Scooter Blenny and the Starfish. I did find the Blenny in the middle photo above blended into its surroundings of rocks. Amazing! Can you see it? The darker orange fish is the Wrasse and the three gold ones are Dispars.

We hope these will be healthy and thrive in their new water world. We ordered these online and they were delivered overnight. I will keep you abreast about their health. Fingers crossed. Also, I will keep looking out for the Starfish. It has to come to the surface eventually. It’s doing what it is meant to do – sift through the sand! Haha!

Thanks for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Come back again soon. There is always something brewing at JemsBooks!

Watch for my newest book in the fantasy series – Gateskin Chronicles Book 4! Here is the cover!

I am finishing my latest WIP and hope to have it published before the end of this month. A few more touches to it and it will shine! Here is the cover created by my husband, John.

This series is an epic fantasy for YA and adults too. You will find magic, wizards, fairies, Sprites, unusual creatures that roam the land and threaten to harm all those who venture too close. It is the constant struggle of good again evil where the strongest will prevail. Are you ready to take your first step into King Gateskin’s world? Once you enter you will be unable to leave for you will be hooked! Enter carefully and keep your eyes open for there could be a creature behind you right now!

Purchase YA books here.

I have also begun working on the audiobook for book 1 of this fantasy series, The Legend of the Taken Ones. Watch for that coming soon too! Then I will work on the other two audiobooks in this series soon after.

This is an epic fantasy that has taken me seven months to complete. That is a long time for me. I usually can complete a book in two to three months. Even less time for a children’s or MG book. This is because of all the characters, places, magic, and creatures that I must keep track of. It isn’t easy! Sigh! These characters keep popping up and want to get into the story. They don’t stay silent for long!

Creating an audiobook is easier than I thought but still takes time to review the pages to ensure that the pronunciations are correct on the out-of-this-world names of the characters and places. Yikes! I only got to the first few chapters before I had to take a break. The voices refused to pronounce the names correctly! I will get back to it soon after I publish book 4. I had a few minutes to spare in between and thought I could do it all but, alas, it was too time consuming and aggravating to tackle any more.

I need to take an entire day to work on it another time. I also must create a book trailer for this book. That will take a day or so also. I may need an assistant to take on some of this work. Sigh!

Well, in the meantime, please check out all the other books in this series and get caught up in the Adventures! LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN! Once you get into the world of Gateskin you will be captivated and won’t be able to put it down! That is what one of my beta readers told me. She read it until one am a few nights! She couldn’t put it away and get to sleep. That is a good thing to hear! Thank you, beta reader!!

Mom’s Choice Awards – Gold Medal Winners! MCA recommends this series too!

Gateskin Chronicles Book 1 – The Legend of the Taken Ones is now in Audible!

I just completed my first audiobook in the Gateskin Chronicles – Book 1 – The Legend of the Taken Ones. It was a challenge because of all the strange names I created in this series. I finally managed to receive proper pronunciation of the words from the voice. Sigh! More books to follow in audiobook format.

Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/ITEM_NAME/dp/B0FHWBKCL6/ref=tmm_aud_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&dib_tag=se&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Ipsplk3H3PVbi9XRHS1qvu627roYgdkfAtFGL1OYAfDGjHj071QN20LucGBJIEps.MVVEZf_5cgWPIpm5imoBB_GBSlHJmN9fK5V63xpb6nc&qid=1753390287&sr=8-2

I hope you will enjoy hearing it along with reading it. I wrote this book so long ago I had forgotten most of it. It was good to review it again to refresh my mind. I’ve already begun book 5.

I plan to publish this book on 7/25/25. Watch for it and more audiobooks of the other books in the series. I have plenty of work ahead for sure!

Here is the book trailer I created some time ago.

Flowers to brighten your day!

Some friends visited us recently and brought these beautiful flowers. They brightened up my kitchen and me! I hope they do the same for you?

Sunflower bouquet

I plan to keep the seeds and spread them around and feed the birds too. This would make my husband happy! He loves his birds!

Here are some other flowers to add a brightness to your day and lighten your spirits.

Flowers are God’s gift to us to cheer us daily all summer long. When the winter comes I will purchase flowers in the supermarket to brighten my kitchen and bring a smile to my lips until summer returns. The beauty and grace of flowers make me happy!

Wait until all my 20+ Rose of Sharon Buses are in bloom for a spectacular display of beauty! I will send them along as soon as they are showing off their blooms!

What makes you happy?

I am taking a break from my WIP and wanted to stop by to send some beauty your way. I hope these flowers brighten your day.

Do your children love raccoons!

It may be difficult to love a raccoon. They are rascals, for sure! My book, Ricky the Rambunctious Raccoon is a character that your children will enjoy reading about. This story is told at night under the cover of darkness when raccoons forage for food, the reason it is black on each page.

Your children will laugh out loud at all of Ricky’s hysterical antics. I know I did when I wrote it! The illustrations were created by my talented husband, John, who brought this book to life! I hope your children will delight in its rhyming story and beautiful illustrations and at the same time learn valuable life lessons. This is another JemsBooks for your children’s summer reading pleasure!

MOM’S CHOICE AWARD WINNER – SILVER MEDAL!

Ricky is a rambunctious or very active raccoon who likes to wander around to find something new to eat. One night during his foraging for food Ricky runs into all kinds of trouble. Will Ricky get home safely? Will he learn his lesson to listen to his mother?

We have had our own interactions with rambunctious raccoons on our back deck a couple of times. They really are naughty little creatures who like to get into all kinds of mischief. They were cute but not as cute as Ricky. They left a mess on our deck and destroyed a birdbath by tipping it over. It cracked into a dozen pieces. Sigh! They used it to stand on to get to the bird feeders.

Still editing WIP – Gateskin Chronicles Book 4!

So sorry I haven’t written to update you on my latest WIP. I have been engrossed in the editing process which takes all my time. I have also been to the doctor a few more times for my eye issues. I hope they will improve after the second laser surgery in August.

I have sent my latest edits to a beta reader and received responses from two of the others. I am almost ready to publish it after my copywrite is done. Sigh.

I hope if you haven’t read the first book that you will do that soon and LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN AND CONTINUE with the next two books. There is so much happening in these books that I must take a deep breath to record it all and then go on to the next thing.

Grab your copies today! This series is a perfect collection of fantasy books for summer reading!

Watch for Book 4 coming soon! Also, I will be working on the audiobook versions of all this series after I publish this book. All my other novels are already in Audible for your reading and listening pleasure.

This series has received five book awards – three Gold Medal from Mom’s Choice Awards, a Book Finalist Award, and a Maincrest Media Book Award!

Here are some reviews from Amazon using promos from AllAuthor.com:

I never read books about fantasy until recently. They fascinate me so much that I wanted to create my ow series of epic fantasy books. When I say epic, I mean EPIC! They are so involved with myriad characters, spells, lands, people and creatures that my head is spinning. I created a log of all these at the front of the book as a cheat sheet to refer to when you forget who or what each character or thing is. I refer to it all the time along with all my notes. Yikes!

There will be two more books in this series unless I run out of steam! I hope not! I am not getting any younger that’s for sure and it takes me longer to write each book that is from 400-600 pages long. Sigh!

I will do my best to complete the next two books next year, fingers crossed! I always need to write something lighter in between each book to break away from all the epicness (if that is a word) of the series. I may do a short story or another children’s book. Who knows? I certainly don’t! Haha!

The characters have become so real to me that it will be difficult to let them go. Being a pantser, writing on the seat of my seat or edge of my seat or whatever, I never know what is going to happen next. It is so exhilarating! I am a reader just like you are until the ending. The ending of each book is a window to the next one with something unusual or exciting or both happening. I write whatever the characters tell me to write.

Here are my trailers to give you a taste of this series. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I enjoyed writing the series for you. LET THE ADVENTURES BEGIN!

Do your children love little lambs?

I wrote this children’s book in 2014 for my three-year-old granddaughter, Leah. She asked me to write a story about her stuffed lamb named Lamby and it had to be purple.

Well, I had to think this over and finally created this story, Lamby the Lonely Lamb. She loved it and showed it to her preschool class. She bragged about having her own book for a long time. Now she is going to be sixteen and the book sits sadly on her bookshelf. Notice the tear in Lamby’s eye. Haha!

Jemsbooks make perfect books for summer reading or any time reading. They are written in rhyme, have life lessons and colorful illustrations to keep children engaged.

MOM’S CHOICE AWARDS – SILVER MEDAL!

Lamby is a very different lamb because of his color. He is lonely and only wants to be accepted by the other lambs. Find out what lesson Lamby learns when a little girl, Leah, comes to the farm where Lamby lives.

Here is a drawing that a child did after hearing the story at bedtime. I shared this in 2014 and just came across it today. It is so sweet that I had to share it again. I don’t remember who sent it to me. The mother said that her child enjoyed the story so much she drew this picture and wanted me to see it. Thank you for drawing this lovely picture for me, whoever you are! I would love to hear from the mother about this picture.

Do your children love crustaceans?

My two children’s books about crustaceans are fun and informative for your early readers who are like sponges and soak up everything they learn. This is the time to introduce your children to all kinds of books about animals and sea creatures, real and imaginary. Parents will enjoy these books too and learn many things they never knew about these fascinating creatures.

Both of these crustaceans were pets in our fish tanks. They lived a long time and were enjoyed by us and our grandchildren. These critters inspired me to write a story about them and share some photos of them in our tanks. We miss them for they were efficient in cleaning out the tanks and quite entertaining. Pick up your copies today and teach your children about these crustaceans. The books would make a perfect Show and Tell for your kids in school this fall and a valuable resource for the school libraries.

Here are my two books about crustaceans:

I have been a proponent of reading all my life even before I knew that it was good for me. I liked the way it made me feel – calm, centered, and happy. How does reading feel to you? To your children?

When I discovered my love of reading, I felt complete and never needed any other distractions when I was into a book. I still feel that way, maybe more so.

I hear many people say that they are bored and don’t know what to do with themselves. I ask them if they like to read. Some say yes while others say I am too busy to pick up a book. I feel confused when I hear that especially since they say they are bored. Even picking up a book for a little while each day will make a difference in your mental and physical health.

Without a book to read I would be lost for sure. I have many books waiting on my Kindle for me to pick up and enjoy. I manage to read more than ever since I retired many years ago. I love every minute of it. That is the reason why I write in so many genres to entice and entertain all ages. I want to encourage everyone to read so that all peoples will be able to reap the amazing benefits of reading.

Here are my books in promos by BMGN (Book Marketing Global Network)

BMGN PROMO with 46 of my books

All my children’s books carry valuable life lessons and important family values that encourage your young ones to be kind, caring, respectful to elders and each other, be kind to animals and many other lessons that parents want their children to learn early.

I hope you and your children are reading daily even if it is only at bedtime or in between your busy lives. I know how difficult it is at times raising a family, working and all the daily duties we have to complete to find a little extra time to do anything else.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you will get to check out some interesting reading to benefit your health and well being. Reviewing books is a good idea too especially if you love a particular book you or your children have read. Thank you for your continued support of my blog and books. I love to hear from readers and welcome and appreciate your reviews.
