It was nice to see our latest visitors to our back yard – two grateful and beautiful deer. I enjoy seeing them every time and never tire of their visits. My husband snapped these two photos recently before they ran away.
Today I noticed the leaves are changing and snapped these two photos through my kitchen window since it has been stormy for two days with rain – a nor’easter.
These two maple trees always change first. The rest of the neighborhood trees follow but a little later. I promise to have more photos as the other trees join in the fall celebration of color.
Our local apple orchard, Mack’s Apples, is having their yearly fall activities. Here is their flyer that they recently posted. I have never visited their corn maze – claustrophobic and fear of getting stuck there. Yikes!
In Londonderry there used to be seventeen apple orchards but now there are only a few left. Mack’s is the largest one left and close to us. We recently visited, before all the above was set up, to purchase some apples. My favorite apple there is the Honey Crisp. It is sweet, juicy and delicious!
They also have an ice cream stand that is probably closing soon if not already since we left there. My favorite ice cream is Death by Chocolate! It is dark chocolate ice cream with chunks of dark chocolate and pieces of brownies! It is decadent and a killer! I only have this ice cream once a year! I love it!
There are animals – young goats or sheep for children to see or pet. Don’t have a photo but here is a photo of the pond on the property where we usually sit and enjoy our ice cream. it’s lovely. It was also the inspiration for the cover for my book, In A Second.
The above photo was taken on a beautiful day. The weather here has not been good lately with the Nor’easter that has passed through New England bringing plenty of rain, wind and flooding in areas by the coast. We didn’t have any flooding, thank God, not too close to the coast but have had plenty of rain and wind.
Hopefully the weather will improve soon. At least we won’t have to worry about drought like we have in the past. It’s better than the snow that will come soon enough.
