Remembering a music icon: Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton was not only an award-winning singer, songwriter, actress but also a philanthropist who gave away millions of books to children everywhere. Thanks to the efforts of Dolly, more children are reading than ever before her efforts. Like Dolly said, “‘If you can read, then you can succeed.’”

  1. My granddaughter Jessie was a recipient of Dolly’s Imagination Library from the time she was born, & she has been singing “Jolene” since she was about 5. It is bittersweet for me finding out Dolly passed away about 2 weeks after I lost my 14 yr old Pug girl, Morgana. She was my last Pug I ever bred. Thank you for sharing this post.
