I have always been a good reader (per my first grade teacher). Once I learned how to read I couldn’t stop. The world opened up to me in a surprising way! I knew that I would never been able to live without having books in my life forever.
As I aged this did not change. When my children came along, I made sure to take them to the library once a week to choose at least three books to read for the week. Each week after that we wouldd pick up more and keep swapping. I also chose three to four or more books to read. This was my way as showing my children how much I loved to read, how important it is, and that ebooks are special!
I don’t know if they are reading as much now as adults with children of their own. But, I certainly hope they still love to read when they can. I made sure that all my five grandchildren have plenty of my books to keep them occuppied ever since they were babies.
Yes, books are special in so many wonderful ways!
- They open up one’s mind to new ideas.
- They teach us about so many wonderful new things.
- They spark our creativity.
- They brighten our lives with hope.
- They help us to forget our troubles.
- They keep us from being lonely.
- They keep our minds sharp.
- They help us feel better about ourselves when we read positive books.
- They open doors to things we never imagined.
- They help promote good health and a positive outlook.
How are books special to you? Do you love to read?
I carry my iPad around with me where I have many books on my TBR. This is from room to room in case I find time to read. Haha! I have a kindle which I store all my books and read from it as much as I can each day. I love it – the new Colorsoft model. It’s wonderful with color covers that are easily to see and read. I bought my husband one too. My former kindle was acting up. I guess I taxed it too much with the weight of thousand or more books.
From my love of reading spawned my love or writing! I try to write in some form every day. Soon I will have another book to add to my growing pile of books – 50 at present. I will soon run out of room on my shelf for what I hope to continue to do in the future, God willing!

If you would love to purchase one of my books, I have some on the shelves for you. Prices are the same as on Amazon except I will autograph them and include a bookmark created by my husband, John. There will be a S&H fee too. Contact me if you are interested in any at jjspina@comcast.net and put into Subject Line – Book Order.
Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your kind support. Please come back again soon. There is always something brewing at JemsBooks.

Learning to read is still one of the biggest moments of joy in my life I can remember!! It never gets old.
I have always been a big reader as well. I read to my kids every night before bed, even though I was very busy. They still remember it fondly.
I’ve been an intense reader since I was very little (age 4). The most joyful days were when my children started to read – what a milestone and accomplishment. My grandson is 5 and reading books that an adult might read, courtesy of his Mom, whom I read to every night at bedtime. She was reading the Ring Trilogy at 8.
