Saying Goodbye to Aruba!

This vacation has left me tanned and rested and ready to get back to writing once we return home. It has been a wonderful trip except for a recent tumble for both my husband and I coming out of the water. The weather has been warm, windy and the surf rough causing us to fall as we had a recent swim. We will be sore and bruised I’m sure by the next day but none the worse for wear, we hope.

Of course I am going to share more photos of our trip along with some food and places we dined. I will have to go on a diet but believe it or not with all the eating we have done, I think we may have lost some weight or at least tightened up from the exercise in the water and a little walking. Sigh!

Chalet Suisse is a lovely restaurant on the island that I would highly recommend. The prices are comparable to many other places here. All restaurants have gone up in price as expected. This one has an early bird for $38.00 from salad or soup to dessert. Notice my steak in the above photos. I had to take almost half of it back with me for lunch. It was delicious. I highly recommend this one. We went twice this trip.

The above photos are of another favorite restaurant, Waki Wahoo, noted for delicious fish and other dishes. I love the barracuda or red snapper. Check out my dish. I ate all my fish but couldn’t finish the rest. It was outstanding as usual! We saw our friend, Rudy, who looks a lot like Cheech Maran of Cheech and Chong. I take a photo with him every year. Such a nice guy and always smiling and cheerful.

This is a small place and only holds 50 people. They do not take reservations and only have two seatings after they open at 5:30 pm. We were lucky to get in and seated at the last table. Sigh! I highly recommend going early because it gets quite noisy after being crowded but well worth the wait and meal.

We are now home safely after a mishap on our flight. We arrived home much later than we planned. Things happen that are out of our control. At least we got home in one piece. Home is the best place to be. I loved our trip but it felt so good to be home. Sigh!

Well, now we are back to reality. After two days of laundry, I will be getting back to my WIP soon. We still feel a little tired but will perk up soon, I hope. We are not as young as we used to be. Haha!

Thank you for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Come back soon, you hear? There is always something brewing at JemsBooks.

Good to know you are home! And wow! that food looks amazing. I almost always bring something home when we eat out – too much food!
