I wrote this children’s book in 2014 for my three-year-old granddaughter, Leah. She asked me to write a story about her stuffed lamb named Lamby and it had to be purple.
Well, I had to think this over and finally created this story, Lamby the Lonely Lamb. She loved it and showed it to her preschool class. She bragged about having her own book for a long time. Now she is going to be sixteen and the book sits sadly on her bookshelf. Notice the tear in Lamby’s eye. Haha!
Jemsbooks make perfect books for summer reading or any time reading. They are written in rhyme, have life lessons and colorful illustrations to keep children engaged.
MOM’S CHOICE AWARDS – SILVER MEDAL!
Lamby is a very different lamb because of his color. He is lonely and only wants to be accepted by the other lambs. Find out what lesson Lamby learns when a little girl, Leah, comes to the farm where Lamby lives.
Here is a drawing that a child did after hearing the story at bedtime. I shared this in 2014 and just came across it today. It is so sweet that I had to share it again. I don’t remember who sent it to me. The mother said that her child enjoyed the story so much she drew this picture and wanted me to see it. Thank you for drawing this lovely picture for me, whoever you are! I would love to hear from the mother about this picture.

It is never too early to introduce your children to valuable life lessons and important family values. That is what I am doing with all my books. I want your children to grow up knowing that kindness, accepting differences, helping others in need, and friends are important are all essential lessons to our wellbeing as adults. Please read to your children daily. If they see you read they will do the same and pass on the love of reading to their own children one day.
Did you know that reading is good for you? Reading is not only important for children but it’s also very important for adults. It not only increases your word vocabulary and stimulates your mind, but also gives you a feeling of wellbeing and promotes good health, dispels feelings of loneliness, improves your memory, promotes better patterns of sleep, and don’t forget – it brings families closer when they share and read books together.
Jemsbooks Children’s books are available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Please consider giving books to all the children on your list for all occasions. There is nothing better than to see a child’s eyes light up when you give him/her a book – even more so when you read the book to them. You are giving them so much more than you could ever imagine, e.g., you spark their imagination, heighten their creativity, lift their spirits, increase their vocabulary, open up a whole new world to them, enhance their health and wellbeing and encourage them to love reading. The gift of a book is worth more than gold to our children, grandchildren. Keep reading and gifting books to children. Let’s bring up a generation of readers and thinkers. Thank you for your support!
Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post and for your continued support. Please come back again soon.
