Do You Believe in Christmas?

Here is a post that I wrote several years ago. I wanted to share it again for I feel the same way if not more so because of all the violence in our troubled world.

I had to write today as busy as I am with preparations for Christmas to emphasize the importance of believing in this sacred holiday.

I know that not everyone is Catholic or celebrates Christmas but for those of you who are please cherish this time and spread the joy that God would want for us with others.

You don’t have to believe to feel the charge in the air and the love that is spreading around. Please share something with one another like a hot cup of coffee, a warm meal, a comfortable place to sleep, a coat or hat to keep the chill off or just a kind word to someone in need. These are all part of being a Godly person. Giving something to others is an act of kindness that warms not only the receiver’s but the giver’s heart as well.

I feel sad when I hear that some schools do not celebrate Christ or allow anyone in the school to celebrate or show signs of this sacred holiday. I can imagine Christ is crying when He sees His flock turning away from Him. It hurts me deeply to. What is wrong with showing some love for Him who has given us life? Why give children the time off from school if not to celebrate Christ’s birth?

I am not ashamed of saying Merry Christmas or acknowledging He who has given me my very existence. For it is through Him that I am who I am. I feel blessed. Thank you, God!

May God bless all our servicemen and women who are away from home and keep them safe.

Merry Christmas to all whether you believe or not. May all your wishes come true in 2016!

I hope that we do not continue to ignore Him. Please pray for all of us who need His help in this troubled world. For who else are we to turn to in times of trouble and turmoil? Who will help us?

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

Well said, Janice. Christmas is not the tree or the gifts. It is to celebrate the birth of a person who would change the world.
