Is fall almost here? My favorite season of all!

I hate to say this but summer is almost over! I do love the change of seasons, fall being my favorite. The color is beginning already over the past couple of weeks. Once the transformation begins it moves quickly and before we know it we are in a kaleidoscope of color. It is magnificent. If you haven’t visited New England in the fall during this colorful season, then you must do it some fall. It is incredible and memorable.

Here are some early photos of the suggestion of the color to come. I keep snapping shots of the colors as they deepen. This weather we are having now is perfect for this change – warm days and cool nights. This is how the chlorophyll, a green pigment, stops from traveling up the trunk of the trees to the branches and into the leaves leaving them to wear their new wardrobe.

You can even see the changes in the pond in these photos from bright green to pale green, yellow and some red. It is still quite full of foliage since it has not be culled back yet.

We always go away in the fall for a vacation and when we return the colors are gone and also the leaves. It is quite a shocking change. If the leaves don’t fall before the first snowfall a tree could be felled by the weight of the snow on the leaves. This happen several years ago to some of our trees at the beginning of our complex. They did not lose their leaves and were split by the weight of the snow. Two had to be cut down and another trimmed in order to save it.

Fall is the perfect time to cuddle up with a good book and relax and forget your troubles. Check out all my books to the right of this post and click on covers. Happy reading!

Well, I hope wherever you live that you are enjoying the good weather you are having while it lasts. It can be fleeting – Mother Nature sends us some surprises and not all of them are good.

Thank you for stopping by to rad this post and for your continued support. Please come back again soon!
