The weather is getting better here in New England. The crocuses and daffodils are out, temps are climbing and the peepers are peeping in our backyard pond. For those who do not what peepers are, they are frogs who are looking for a mate to procreate. They make the sound of peep constantly and there are many of them peeping at the same time. It is mind boggling and can drive you crazy with the sound. They will continue to peep until they find their mates, every last one of them. This peeping begins in March and can last all of April and into May or longer.
The only good thing about this sound is that when we first hear them we know that spring is here or at least coming soon. It is a nice feeling to know that winter is finally over, even though the winter was not as bad as others in the past, it’s good that it is finally over.
My favorite part of the spring is when it is warm enough for us to sit out on our deck. Dinner out on the deck will come as soon as the weather warms up even more. Our deck is ready whenever the weather gets warmer. The new electric stove is revved up and broken in.
It will be a little while before our pond greens up though. It looks pretty sad right now. Here is a photo of what it looks like now and one from last year when it greened up. I love to see the changes in the pond and when the trees’ buds open up and display their spring coats of leaves.
Spring is an awakening, all nature is coming alive again from a long winter’s nap. It’s a renewal of sorts for all of us, a time to clean out the clutter in our lives, begin anew.
I hope wherever you live that you are having good weather.

We are all greened up here. The wisteria and daffodils have gone by – but our allium and lilacs are still blooming.
You are ahead of us. Not much else out yet. Trees are just beginning to bud. Spring is beautiful as more of nature wakes up from the long winter’s nap.
With this week’s high heat, many of the flowers have gone by!!
Oh, so sad! 😞
Lovely!
Thank you. I love watching the seasons change. I couldn’t live anywhere else. 🥰
Happy to celebrate Spring with you!
Happy spring, my friend! 🥰
Wonderful spring and where better than New England:)
That’s how I feel! Love New England with its seasons. 😍
Thank you for sharing, you are coming or are in spring, we are in autumn. But I have to say, we still have 25’C and over. Yesterday we had a day tour again (I posted some pictures from it in Facebook, if you like to look at them) and it was 30’C. love our autumn, when it’s not raining.
I love autumn with all the colors of the leaves and the crisp feel of the air. 🍁🍂
Well, we don’t have the colors of the leaves here, because most trees are keeping their leaves. But some. So I can see it as well.
Happy spring!
