I have had all kinds of experiences negative and positive in life during my 70+ years. Haven’t we all? That is how we learn to survive from our mistakes and mishaps.
Have you ever had a day that nothing seems to go your way? I have, too many to list.
Have you ever forgotten to go to a function because you had forgotten to put it on your calendar? I have! This is so horrifying and thoroughly embarrassing! I now put everything on my phone and physical calendar.
Have you ever tried to make an impression on your in-laws and failed miserably?
Have you ever baked a cake, pie or other goods that came out all wrong?
Have you ever tried to impress a new friend by sharing some of your favorite things, and found out they did not share the same feeling which disappointed you.
Have you ever cooked a dish that you have made for many years and forgot something in the recipe?
Have you ever had a bad skin day and that day was a special occasion? I have.
Have you ever gone to a new hairdresser and asked for an updo but they gave you a rat’s nest of a mess when you had to go to a wedding but didn’t have time to fix it? I definitely have!! Yikes! I made the big mistake of paying and not complaining until I got home and had a good cry.
Have you ever been upset about a purchase but was fearful of upsetting the clerk or business because they were so nice? I have, and learned to be more assertive since then.
Have you ever purchased something online and then realized you didn’t read the fine print and kept receiving this item every month? I have, and called to cancel but had to yell at the people who refused to stop it. I did finally convince them that I would report them to the Better Business Bureau and leave a scathing review. That worked!
Have you ever ordered something that never came? I have. Thank goodness my bank cancelled the payment on it.
Have you ever ordered something in a restaurant but got something entirely different and had to return it? Did you fear that you would not be treated well when you had to order again? This happens to me a lot, ie, the food is not cooked properly or they omit something. Sigh!
Have you ever said something in jest to someone that was taken in an entirely different way? I have and it was so embarrassing. I made amends and was forgiven.
Have you ever had a problem publishing a book where everything you did was wrong? I definitely have multiple times. I always seem to do something wrong since Amazon keeps changing things up to confuse me, and it doesn’t take too much to do that.
What have you done that you are embarrassed by or don’t even want to talk about? I have done plenty of other things but some I would never share for they are too stupid to even mention. But I have learned from my mistakes, at least I think I did. Haha!
Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post. I hope you got a chuckle out of my mishaps and that they reminded you of many of yours.
Stop by again soon. You are always welcome. Thank you for your support.

Oh, I believe I can relate, even a little bit… (lol) a LOTTA BIT! Hugs to you, girlfriend for as long as you want to be hugged… xx
Haha! Hugs back to you, my friend! ❤️🤗
I’ve had all of those days, Janice, and several of them this week. But I just keep suiting up and showing up and doing my best.
Hang in there, Jan! 🥰 have you had any issues with Amazon and the addition of another category?
I haven’t had Amazon issues, but then I haven’t tried to add any new categories recently.
I am going into all 45 books to make sure I have 3 categories for each one. Sigh! Quite a job!! 😩🥺
Janice, you nailed it. I’ve done all those things. But now that I am ancient, I just go with the flow – have something you bake come out wrong? I just shrug. And forgetting? There are times when we’ve failed to show up for a dinner with friends because we forgot to write it down. Luckily our friends do the same thing. Age does help smooth all these bumps out!
Right! Funny how as we get older we are excused for the errors of our ways! Haha! 🤣
Yup, we get excused because we’re old. What a joke!
