I am excited about what is happening in our saltwater tank! Our anemone is happy too! One of clown fish (smaller one) has decided finally to host the anemone! Hurray! This is a good thing for the anemone and also for the clown fish. They will both benefit from this hosting.
If you don’t know what hosting of an anemone is – let me explain and also click this link for more info.
In our experience, we have never seen any other creature host an anemone that we had. According to the link above crabs and others can host anemones. Our clown fish is very protective of the anemone and now that he is comfortable with his position he is not letting the other clown fish get anywhere near the anemone. It is comical to watch. Here are some photos of him with his anemone.

We first noticed that the clown was inside the anemone was in the first night photo but it is difficult to spot him. See the dark spot in the upper middle of the anemone In the other photos it is quite clear that he is swimming in and out of the anemone. It is quite exciting to see when it happens. We have waited for a long time for it to happen.
Here are a couple more photos I took now.
The photo above shows the larger clown in my face to let me know that he doesn’t want me there. He definitely has an attitude. I swear his mouth is moving and he is saying something that isn’t too nice. Ha! I think he is just angry that he didn’t host the anemone before his smaller buddy did.
The adventures in our tank continue and never get boring. It is after all a water world that is full of living things that have personalities, attitudes and disagreements just like the rest of us. Fascinating to watch! They give us joy and keep us entertained!
Thank you for stopping by tor dad this post. I hope you enjoyed learning about our saltwater tank and all its inhabitants.

That is sweet!
It was sweet to see how happy the clown fish was to swim in and out of the anemone. They both look happy and healthy. Thank goodness! 😀
I’m glad those two got together. It’s good to have friends, even in an aquarium!
Yes, for sure! They both look happy! 🤣
