Are you receiving spam calls about your books? I have been receiving so many of these calls about some of my books that I do not answer any of them if my phone says that they are spam. I have at times picked up calls in error but after listening to their long diatribes I always ask for the bottom line. You guessed it! It always asks for money. So many of them are interested in my Abby & Holly Series, different books in the series. I have received at least ten calls recently. Some of these calls leave messages that state they are interested in my book and want to discuss how they can help me with my book. I spent too long on some calls before I realized that they were only looking for money. Sigh!
In this particular call today (7/5/23), that I picked up in error because I was waiting for another call, the woman told me about her company explaining what they do and how they can help me get my book made into a film. Of course, it sounds better than it really is! Believe me!
I always ask the bottom line of these flimsy deals. Then she tells me that they will take care of the cost or at least most of it to the total cost. I would have to pay the rest of the $10,000 in order to get my book made into a film. Ha! I wasn’t born yesterday!
Watch out for these calls. They are coming from all over the country but I have received them from California, NJ and other states, for example.
I’m holding out for Disney to call me! Hahahahaha!
If Disney never calls or any legitimate deals come my way, I’m be just as happy to be writing, publishing and do my own thing until I can’t do it anymore.

I’ve had them too – I think we all get them. They seem to think writers are stupid. We might make up tall stories but that doesn’t mean we’re going to fall for them!
You say that exactly! I don’t answer any numbers I do not know. They can leave me a message and if I think it sounds legitimate, then I will return the call. Most have not been though. My time is valuable and I don’t want to waste it! sigh!
