What to do on school vacation!

There’s always something to do while on school vacation – movies, indoor activity centers, getting together with friends, going out to eat and of course reading a ton of books of your choice. It’s more fun to read a book that you choose instead of what is homework. Right?

When I was a child, I was always buried in a book. I also loved playing solitaire once my father taught me. I was never good at cards and still don’t play cards of any kind, not even solitaire now. My love was always books! I dreamed of faraway places, doing something extraordinary, completing feats that were impossible by normal means and excelling at everything. Of course, we can only do all this in our imagination but what an exciting journey that is. Books enable us to be whatever we want to be.

The important thing to do is get our children of all ages reading. Teenagers have so much angst at times with all the stress of vying to be like everyone else or trying to be at the top of their game. All this can cause unneeded stress. What better way to help rid them of stress than to get them reading positive, upbeat and fun books to get their minds off of the troubles of adolescence. I felt stressed out when I was in high school. It wasn’t my favorite time. Everyone was trying to be the most popular and well liked. I was quiet, shy and introverted most of the time. It was not my plan to be like everyone else. I was my own person as shy and inconsequential as I was and happy to be that way.

At times I am still like that – insecure and unsure of what I want to attain to be in life. I am happy though writing, blogging and publishing my books with my husband’s talent as an illustrator and cover creator. If he ever decides not to do either of these things, then I will have to find another cover creator and no longer create books with illustrations. It wouldn’t be the same without his talent. For now, I am pumping out all the books I can while he is still interested in helping me.

I have many positive books for MG/PT/YA that will keep them upbeat and intrigued. Please check out my books below. There is something for all reading tastes.

Below are books for MG/PT ages 10+ available on links below:

MG/PT/YA books are available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

These are multi-award-winning books that will keep your kids engaged, entertained and happy. All books carry important life lessons about bullying, friendship, family is important, and helping others in need.

These two series were a joy to write. I have been contemplating creating a new series for MT/PT in the future. Would you like another one to read?

My goal in writing for MG/PT/YA is to encourage all ages to read daily to enhance their creativity, increase their vocabulary and enable them to live healthier and happier lives. Keep reading and I will keep writing. Thank you! Happy Reading!

Hop over today to Amazon or Barnes & Noble or click on the covers to the right of this post of the books you choose to purchase and let your MG/PT/YA begin adventures that will lift their spirits, make their hearts soar and spark their imagination! Give gifts of books today and you will give them more than just a book, you will give them wings to fly!

Jemsbooks have won 35 Book Awards – 19 Pinnacle Book Awards, 5 Reader’s Favorite Book Awards (Silver, Bronze and 2 Honorable Mentions and Finalist Medal), 7 Silver Medals – Mom’s Choice Awards, 1 Authorsdb Silver Medal for Cover Contest, 1 Book Excellence Award Finalist, 2 Finalists in Authorsdb First Lines Contest, 1 Finalist in Red City Review Book Awards, 2 Top Shelf Awards (First Place and Runnersup), and many 5-Star Reviews from Readers’ Favorite Book Awards.

If you have Young Adults (YA) then check out these books (more in the series will be coming in 2023 and beyond).

Purchase YA books here.

THE ADVENTURE BEGINS in The Legend of the Taken Ones: Gateskin Chronicles Book 1.

THE ADVENTURES CONTINUE in The Unknown Territory: Gateskin Chronicles Book 2.

Watch for book 3 coming later in 2023 and more in 2024 and beyond. There will be six books in this adventure/fantasy series.

This adventure/fantasy series was more involved than writing for MG/PT and other novels. I found fantasy to be more time-consuming to create especially when there are myriad characters in an epic adventure like this. Phew! But once I complete each book, I have such a wonderful feeling of relieve that I finished it! I do miss the characters because they become alive to me and are begging me to come back again to pick up the story that they want to continue to tell. I promise I will get back to them as soon as I complete two other series that I am currently working on – Bedtime Stories for Children and Branyrd the Angel Series.

Branyrd the Angel Series Books 1 & 2 are available for 17+. In book 1 there is mild language with serious situations in today’s world. In book 2 less language issues but more serious situations that we are currently dealing with in our troubled world. I will always put positive along with the negative and have a solution to correct anything that goes wrong. I only wish we had an Angel like Branyrd the Angel in our world today to help along our paths and lead us in the right directions.

Check out this series below. Watch for Book 2 coming in March 2023 and two more books in this four-book series in 2024. If Branyrd has more stories to share, I may write more.

JEMSBOOKS NOVELS FOR 18+ are available on Amazon as paperbacks and ebooks (Kindle) and Barnes & Noble as paperbacks.

After Valentine’s Day, after football season, on school vacation week, a book is the best thing for children!
