What Makes an Author Tick?

I often ask myself this question. What makes me tick? What makes my fellow authors out there tick? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Writing & Publishing Word Art

What makes me tick? It’s being excited about writing and publishing my work. It’s about loving to create stories to entertain the masses, sharing my ideas with others, and feeling that I am accomplishing something worthwhile. Writing gives me a purpose in my life to keep moving forward and enables me to continue to do what makes me happy. With God’s blessing I hope to write many more stories over the years to come.

I am doing something I love to do. It’s funny though because before I retired I was concerned that I wouldn’t have anything to do. But it was like a bell went off in my head and I began to write non-stop. I couldn’t believe there were so many ideas running through my head. I pulled up all the other stories I had written previously and edited and published them after being unsuccessful in submissions to publishers. I kept writing more and more books until now I have 41 published works. Yikes! If someone had told me that I would write that many books at my age, I would have said they were crazy! But I guess I am the crazy one! Ha!

It doesn’t matter what I write – I love it all, even blogging gives me a thrill! I hope my readers enjoy my craziness in blogging. You never know what I am going to write next. Well, neither do I! You see all kinds of posts about birds, fish, seasons, books, publishing, author interviews, giveaways, travels, recipes, crocheting and sewing projects and whatever else I can come up. After all, they are what I love to share with you. If you love to eat, I have some wonderful recipes here.

If you haven’t checked out my eclectic blog yet, start scrolling and searching today. Have fun! There is always more coming!

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post. Please remember to review books to help authors by sharing word about their work. We authors will love you for your efforts.
