Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my Readers! Taking off some time for the holidays!

With the busy holidays coming up I will be taking some time off to enjoy my family during this Christmas and New Year. I have been blogging, promoting and writing non-stop and need to take a little break to spend time with family and friends. I promise to be back sometime between Christmas and New Year’s for a blog or two.

I hope that you took advantage of the Kindle Countdown Deals I featured this month in time for Christmas. There is one left – Lubelia Alycea which begins 12/23/22 and ends 12/24/22 for $1.99. It is a quick one so you must be fast to grab it while you can. I promise to do more of these deals in 2023 to give you a chance to read my books. I know how expensive everything is. I am doing my best to offer you some discounts when I can. A special ‘thank you’ to all who purchased books during the month of December with my deals. I appreciate your support and hope you enjoy the books and if possible post reviews.

Lubelia Alycea leaves her native country of Madeira, Portugal to travel to her new home – America. This is the story of how a strong, resilient young girl grows into a formidable woman. She must survive many tragedies in her lifetime, separation from family, sickness, death, betrayal, and a lost love. Will she find happiness and a new love in her life? Will she be strong enough to face the storms ahead and still keep her family together? Will the secrets in her life destroy her and all that she holds dear?

This book was dedicated and in memory of my grandmother who lived to be 100.5 years. She was a cantankerous and strong-willed little girl who grew up to be a resilient and even more formidable woman. That part of the story is true. This is an historical work of fiction with a little romance thrown in for good measure. I think my grandmother (Avoa) would have loved this book. I hope you find it gripping and unputdownable!

If you have grandparents that immigrated to USA then they may have some stories to share with you too about their journey and how difficult it was. Listen to them and cherish the time you have with them while you can.

My grandmother shared a lot about her life with me and the adversities of coming from another country and trying to begin again in a strange land. I build this story and embellished it using my creative license.

Enjoy the holidays with family and friends, good food, spirits and stay safe and well during the inclement weather this Christmas weekend.

Thank you for stopping by to read this post and for all your kind support in 2022! Reviews are always welcomed and appreciated. Word of mouth is one way to spread word about books you enjoy. Authors will love you for your efforts to post a review.
