When I wrote this book I felt drawn into the story by my (Avoa) grandmother’s spirit. I felt she was there with me urging me on to say whatever I wanted to say. This is a story of fiction but I did base it on my cantankerous grandmother’s personality and did plenty of embellishing. I think Avoa would have loved it!

I did listen to my grandmother tell me stories of her life and learned how difficult it was during her lifetime. She lived through the Great Depression, world wars and many presidents. Her generation is known as the greatest generation of all time! You will see this when you read my book.

Reading this book will remind you to listen to your grandparents when they tell you about their lives, that is if they are still living. Our parents and grandparents have so much to share with us. We just have to listen to them so we can carry on their legacy. I hope I shared my grandmother’s spirit and kept it alive for posterity.
