Being an author, I sometimes give a book along with a bottle of wine for a special occasion if I know the person is an avid reader. If they are not, I just give them a bottle of wine, if they drink! Phew!
I am also an avid crocheter who gives away tons of pillows, afghans, lapghans, amigurumis (stuffed animals), etc. along with books for the kids. The kids always get more excited over the books than my crocheted items. Sigh! But I am happy about that too!
