A Wonderful New Review of Abby & Holly Book 1: School Dance!

What a nice surprise when I receive a review of one of my books! I recently received this wonderful review of my series for MG/PT/YA – Abby & Holly School Dance. This is the first book in this fun series for both girls and boys and adults to enjoy.

A special ‘thank you’ to Valerie Ormond for this lovely review.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Visit Back to Middle School with Mystery

Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2021

Verified Purchase Abby & Holly, School Dance was a fun read taking one back to middle school dance days and the awkwardness of that age for both boys and girls. Janice creates interesting characters such as mystery-solving twins who have their own form of mental telepathy communication, a young girl whose parents are overseas helping others instead of being at home with her, and an aunt with supernatural powers. The author weaves in lessons of friendship and doing the right thing while keeping the story fun and mysterious. Highly recommend this book for young readers, especially those who enjoy mysteries.

READERS’ FAVORITE BOOK AWARDS – BRONZE MEDAL!

This is Book 1 of a series of Abby & Holly books. These two girls were first introduced in Book 5 of the Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Series.
The girls are first cousins on their mothers’ side. They moved to the quiet town of Lindon, New Hampshire and live in a grand old Victorian which is haunted.
The cousins are excited about attending the 6th grade dance. When their friend, Justine, is bullied, Abby and Holly, along with the help of a ghost and Davey & Derek, work together to formalize a plan to put a stop to the bullying.

This book deals with bullying at the middle-grade levels and teaches kids that age how to deal with a bully in a kind and understanding manner. They will realize it doesn’t pay to bully others and will get more friends by being kind to one another. Middle-grade is a tough time for kids who are coming into their own and trying to find friends. This is also a mystery that will grip and hold onto their attention until they solve the mystery along with cousins, Abby and Holly. I hope you MG/PT/YA will enjoy this series and get hooked once they begin reading it! I had so much fun writing it! I felt like a kid again! What a freeing feeling!

Thank you for stopping by to read this post. I hope you will check out these books soon for your middle-graders/preteens/young adults. You just might enjoy them yourselves, parents!
