Vacation in Sunny Aruba!

I recently returned from sunny Aruba – One Happy Island! We were there for three weeks! It was quite a vacation in more ways than usual though.

Of course it is always wonderful to get back there each year for our yearly trip. Last year with COVID it was not safe to go. But we thought that this year 2021 would be safer. It turned out that it was not as safe as we expected it to be for some.

First of all, there were many hoops we had to jump through to get there. We first had to fill out an ED card with all our info, purchase extra insurance from Aruba besides our usual insurance to cover our visit and finally take a COVID PCR test to ensure that we were NEGATIVE three days before we left.

Things were good once we arrived. Masks had to be worn everywhere but on the beach. Thank goodness for that. I hate wearing masks but if it will keep me and others safer then I will do it.

Here are some more photos of this lovely island – 80’s every day between 82-88 degrees day and night.

I love taking selfies in Aruba like the ones below. It drives my husband crazy! Ha!

Here are some of us enjoying the delicious fish and meat dishes along with sangria!

Another beautiful Aruban sunset – can’t get enough of them!
A souvenir mug from Aruba – it is like having a little of Aruba each morning with my coffee or tea!

Last but not least – here is a little critter we spotted on a walk to dinner one night.

A little lizard we nearly stepped on

My husband took more photos with his camera. The ones above are from my iPhone. Pretty good just the same, don’t you think? He hasn’t taken them off his camera yet. I may share some more after he does that if they are better than mine.

As we all know – all good things come to an end. Our three-week vacation came to an end but we were ready to go home. Now the problems began – we had to get another COVID test two days before we could go home. If we tested POSITIVE we would have to be put into quarantine at another resort and locked in a room for 10 days. We would have to order food in and hope for the best. Another test would be done after that.

It was unnerving waiting for the test results which we received the next day. Some had tested positive without any symptoms. Well, as you can see we did get home with NEGATIVE tests! Thank God!! Phew!

It was a nice vacation seeing all our friends who we meet each year. The weather was warm and windy and the water was wonderful – a little cooler than usual though this time. It certainly is a lot warmer than New England Atlantic beaches. Brrr!

Aruba is a wonderful place to visit – sun, fun and surf with delicious food and friendly people! Each year they welcome us HOME! If you haven’t been there you are missing out!

I hope you enjoyed my photos about my favorite place to vacation each year. Until next year when we visit this lovely little happy island again, I wish you BOM BINI! (Good day!)

Thank you for stopping by to read this post. Please come back again real soon! You are always welcome! Take care.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!

We visited Aruba once and loved it. So much fun. We went out a pirate ship. The food you had looks amazing. Glad you had a nice time. Travel is tricky now with so many more steps to take but still worth it.
