Working on Book 2 of the Gateskin Series!

I have been busy with family get-togethers, birthdays, dinners with friends and doctor appointments. My break is not yet over from my books but I began once again picking up with Chapter One of the new book in Gateskin Chronicles. I hadn’t planned on doing this just yet. I wanted to get back to it in November in between the holidays if I had time. My plan is to get it completed by February 2022 if possible.

Well, my characters began nagging me again about telling their story. Even a new character is being introduced into the myriad characters I already have. I apologize if there are too many characters to comprehend but they keep surfacing and won’t let me ignore them. Sigh!

If you can’t wait for this book and have already read and reviewed (fingers crossed) Book 1, please check out all my other books for MG/PT/YA and novels for 18+. If you have already read them all, God bless you! That would make me a happy author for sure!!! I promise to bring in some new developments when they come to me in Book 2. Like I have said before, many times, I don’t know what is going to happen or who is going to come into the story until the characters lead the way. It is a daunting task but somewhat exhilarating.

MG/PT/YA books are available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

JEMSBOOKS NOVELS FOR 18+ are available on Amazon as paperbacks and ebooks (Kindle) and Barnes & Noble as paperbacks.

Blurb:

This is Book 1 of a fantasy series that will have six books in all. In this book learn about the three children of King Gateskin and his wife, Queen Solinara. The children have had powers since they were quite young.

Serena was three years old when she learned of her power to move objects with her mind. Her brother, Simon, can fly and their sister, Catalina, can become invisible or blend into her surroundings. They live with their parents in Sovorotskina, the Land of Light.

With these powers comes responsibility. The children must try to use their powers for the common good and responsibly to help others. The three children befriend a Sprite named Spindle who accompanies them on their adventure. Along the way they meet up with their aunt and uncle, their mother’s brother and his wife, Wizard Hotenfaran and Fairy Procelina. The group must travel into the evil land of Parotovina, Land of Darkness, to save King Gateskin, who was kidnapped, and also rescue some of the descendants of their friends and fellow Sovorotskinans who were captured and taken by the Evil Ones. These descendants have been waiting a long time to be free to return to the villages of their ancestors.

The children have many trials and adventures along the way. Will they be able to rescue their father and fellow Sovorotskinans without endangering their own lives? Will the evil King Kaposkaran and his Queen Beregina stop Serena and her siblings from being successful or will they turn Serena and her siblings to their dark ways?

I think I may have mentioned that I wrote this book along with Lubelia Alycea: One Hundred Years which was a fiction novel dedicated in memory of my grandmother. These two books couldn’t be any more diverse. I would jump between them when the characters pulled me that way. I was surprised that I kept them separate in my mind. It was unnerving to say the least but I loved every creative moment of it all. I have never written two books simultaneously again. Phew! Thank goodness! I have learned to control the characters a little better and let them know they must be more patient with me. I feel like I am a vehicle for their creativity.

Of course, there are other ideas that keep surfacing in my overcrowded mind daily. But, I try to push them aside and leave them for another time. I’m sure more will keep coming. I never see to run out of things running around in my head 24/7. It can be exhausting! That is why I need to take some time off after an epic series like this.

If you think you have trouble keeping track of the characters, well, so do I! That is why I listed them characters in the front of the book, not only for you but for me too! Ha! I hope you enjoy this book and look forward to the rest of the books in the series. It may take a couple of years before I have all six completed. I promise to do my best to get them done for you fantasy lovers. If you love this book, please feel free to pass the word. That is how others find books to enjoy too. Your words mean a lot to others and help them determine the right book for them.

I am an avid reader as you can see from my monthly reads – 6-8 books a month, sometimes more. I review all the books I read unless I can’t give them at least a 4 star review. If I find a book like that then I contact the author and explain my review to them but do not post it unless they want me to. I know how difficult it is to receive an unfavorable review. But, if you look online you will see many 1, 2 or 3 star reviews on the most famous authors’ books. The funny thing about that is that Amazon only recognizes how many reviews you receive not if they by the number of stars they are.

If I see too many reviews with fewer stars I will not purchase the book. But I do look over the 4 and 5 star reviews to see if there is anything there that gives a different redeeming side of the book.

Thank you so much for stopping by to read this post. Please come back again. You are always welcome. Thank you for the reviews you may have posted or plan to post wherever my books are sold.

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Safe, Stay Well and God Bless!
