A New Review of Lubelia Alycea!

I was thrilled to see another review of my latest novel, Lubelia Alycea, an historical/romance fiction, dedicate to my own grandmother (Avoa in Portuguese). Thank you, Mystery Fran, for the lovely review!

I used many of her characteristics for the main protagonist in this story. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it. At times I felt as if my Avoa was looking over my shoulder as I wrote. I even felt a nudge or tap when she didn’t like what I wrote. Ha! No one disagreed with Avoa!

Blurb:

Lubelia Alycea leaves her native country of Madeira, Portugal to travel to her new home – America.

This is the story of how a strong, resilient young girl grows into a formidable woman. She must survive many tragedies in her lifetime, separation from family, sickness, death, betrayal, and a lost love. Will she find happiness and a new love in her life?

Will she be strong enough to face the storms ahead and still keep her family together? Will the secrets in her life destroy her and all that she holds dear?

Here is the new review on Amazon:

Mystery “Fran”
5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book! Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2021I thoroughly enjoyed reading Janice Spina’s new novel, Lubelia Alycea – 100 years. The book chronicles the lives of Alycea and her family as they journey from their home in Madeira, Portugal to the shores of America, where they hope they will find opportunity and prosperity. Life is good in America, but it is not without it’s twists and turns that lead to illness, death and other tragic events. Alycea was brave, determined, and resilient through it all, adapting and adjusting to whatever came her way. At the same time, she maintained her cultural identity, traditions, and her love for her family. Definitely worth the read to find out more about this strong and amazing woman
