My husband, John, created this train for JEMSBOOKS! I love it! Don’t you? Woo Woo! Get on the JEMSBOOKS EXPRESS for some fun adventures in reading!
Keep your children entertained with JEMSBOOKS EXPRESS today. Children need to have something to look forward to in this upside down world right now. Having a story time with fun books is a great way to keep them busy and happy.
Here’s Ricky coming your way on JEMSBOOKS EXPRESS!
Blurb:
MOM’S CHOICE AWARD WINNER – SILVER MEDAL! Ricky is a rambunctious or very active raccoon who likes to wander around to find something new to eat. One night during his foraging for food Ricky runs into all kinds of trouble. Will Ricky get home safely? Will he learn his lesson to listen to his mother?
After you read Ricky to your children, ask them these questions:
- What does Ricky do when he goes out on his own night?
- What animals does Ricky meet?
- What does Ricky do when he meets a skunk?
- What does Ricky do when he meets an owl?
You will be surprised how intelligent and attentive children are when you read a story to them. It’s a fun time for parents and children alike to discuss a book they just read together. It’s a time to get closer with your children. It’s also a time to snuggle and cuddle and share a loving experience. Enjoy! Happy Reading!

Please feel free to leave comments about any of my books. I would love to answer any of your questions too. If your children have enjoyed my books, I would be thrilled to hear that also.
Kids will love this tale and chuckle as they read or are read to of Ricky’s exploits. Parents will love it too! I hope you will check out Ricky and all the other 15 books for children from JEMSBOOKS today. Thank you. Have fun reading every day!
When I wrote Ricky I wanted to take a different kind of animal – one that is not seen or known to many of us. It is nocturnal and only seen if you are out at night and happen upon one. We have had some of them on our back deck trying to get to our bird feeders. They are fearless and are not easily frightened away. They really are cute especially the young ones. But please keep your distance. They can attack if threatened and have sharp claws. Learn more about raccoons on Wikipedia here.
I enjoyed writing Ricky’s story and creating a character that gets into all kinds of trouble when he doesn’t listen to his mother. It’s a comical story but at the same time it conveys important life lessons for children. My husband does all the illustrations and book covers and had a fun time drawing the characters that are in this story. I think he especially did a beautiful job with the owl!
Jemsbooks Children’s books are available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Please consider giving books to all the children on your list for all occasions. There is nothing better than to see a child’s eyes light up when you give him/her a book – even more so when you read the book to them. You are giving them so much more than you could ever imagine, e.g., you spark their imagination, heighten their creativity, lift their spirits, increase their vocabulary, open up a whole new world to them, enhance their health and welbeing and encourage them to love reading. The gift of a book is worth more than gold to our children, grandchildren. Keep reading and gifting books to children. Let’s bring up a generation of readers and thinkers. Thank you for your support!
