How To Keep Your Children Safe and Busy During this Difficult Time of COVID-19!

Like everyone else I keep receiving emails from different businesses, online places I have visited about the Coronavirus (COVID-19). We all must be diligent and keep washing our hands especially the fingertips where all the germs are from touching everything around us.

I don’t proclaim to know any more than any of you about this virus but that we must be careful and take care of ourselves and our families by following all the guidelines provided to us from our countries’ administrations. One of the things I plan to do is stay away from crowds. I had plans this month and next to attend local plays, book signings, etc. Now it looks like some of them are postponing or cancelling them out entirely.

We all know what happened to the sports industry – everything is put on hold until the virus winds down or is controlled somehow. The main reason for their cancellations is the crowds that attend. It is best in their opinion to keep people away from spreading the germs further. We can all pray that it will disappear or be eradicated as all the other viruses we have had in the past.

It is also a hard time for many who will be out of work because of these stoppages. I pray that they will find a way to survive and take care of their families.

As an author I can only suggest that you do what you need to do to keep your children safe at home until this passes. While they are home keep them busy doing projects around the house – give them tasks like setting the table, washing dishes, clearing the table, cleaning their rooms (I can hear the groans now), and other things that must be done around the home.

Of course, there are some fun things to do too – coloring, painting by number or with water and magic coloring books, reading all kinds of books, making up stories and writing them down and many more ideas. Amazon has some great fun projects for kids, so does Joanne’s Fabric, Michael’s Crafts, Hobby Lobby, and other online stories. All you have to do is order online, no lines or danger of getting infected.

I hope and pray that you will all be safe. Keep washing your hands and don’t touch your face! It’s a difficult thing to do at times. I know but I keep a bottle of disinfectant liquid close by if I leave the house at all. I have used it so many times that my hands are going to disappear soon. Sigh! Better be safe than sorry.

Here are some suggestions for books for children at Amazon – my author page for books for all ages is below. All Jemsbooks for children are in rhyme with life lessons. Children will have fun reading or being read to about all the adorable animal stories and learn some important and valuable lessons about good behavior and family values. When parents are tired of entertaining children pick up some of these books and let children read them or read to them for an enjoyable time together. Parents love these books too!

Jemsbooks children’s books have won many book awards attesting to the quality and enjoyment of these books. Thank you for your interest in my books!

There are even books for you parents to enjoy while your children are reading their own books. Go go Amazon or Barnes & Noble.

Here is Hunting Mariah the beginning of a series – thriller/mystery/suspense/crime that will keep you up all night from its captivating first page to its explosive ending! There is Mariah’s Revenge (sequel to Hunting Mariah) that will having you skipping meals and laundry just to finish it!

Sometimes we just need an escape to another place during these times. Relax, put your feet up and enjoy a good book. Reviews are welcome and appreciated! Thank you so much! Enjoy reading!

There is How Far is Heaven – romance/paranormal/mystery that will grip you and make you hold onto your children.

Here is a eclectic short story collection with multi-genres that will interest everyone. Good for short reads when you don’t have a lot of time in between your busy day. But once you begin reading this book you will NOT BE ABLE TO PUT IT DOWN! Enjoy!

I feel pure joy writing for children and hope with God’s help and blessing to continue to write many more fun adventures for children to read and enjoy. I do enjoy writing for MG/PT/YA and 18+ too!

Blessings & Hugs! Stay Well, Stay Safe! God Bless Everyone in this difficult time. I pray for those who have lost loved ones and for those who have gotten sick – to regain their good health.
