It feels like summer will never get here. This spring in New England USA has been rainy and cold. But we New Englanders are a hardy stock and know that if we just show a little patience summer will be here before we realize it. We need to enjoy every warm sunny day that we are blessed to have. It goes all too fleetingly we know.
School will be out in another month, give or take a few days for some who have to make up their quota of 180 days. Luckily we didn’t have much snow and days off for the children.
Getting back to my question is: What will you and your children be reading this summer? Summer is a time to have fun and do all kinds of things outdoors. But also we need to keep our children reading to feed their mind and creativity.
There will be some days that we may feel like cozying up with a good read or when our children ask us to read a new story at bedtime to them. Well, here’s your chance to relax and enjoy what your children are reading. Jemsbooks are for all ages! All children’s books carry life lessons that help encourage children to be kind to one another, show respect to each other, parents and elders, bullying will never be tolerated or accepted, love one another, family and friends are important and do matter, accept differences in others, show patience and understanding to each other, and of course always listen to your mother. If all these life lessons are important to you as a parent then check out my books (Jemsbooks.com) available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble too. Some of my books can also be found at Walmart.com. If you don’t see what you need all you have to do is ask them.
My goal is to encourage children of all ages to read and hopefully nurture their creative spirits. I want them to grow to love reading as much as I do. Children will become healthier in mind, spirit and body and have more confidence in themselves. Children who love to read will become more successful one day because reading opens doors to their minds and encourages them to realize that they can do anything they aspire to do or be.
How many books will you and your children read this summer? I have been averaging 10+ books a month. Can you beat me? Let me know. I am curious to see how many books children will read. If your children see you reading they will read more too!
If funds are scarce please feel free to go to your local library and request my books. They will be happy to oblige.
The most important thing to me is that children read my books and other authors’ books too and learn important life lessons to help them along the road to adulthood. Children are the future of this world. Let’s get them reading and learning and aspiring to be all that they can be!

Here is the newest book for young children:

Blurb:
Once upon a time there were two children who loved their father so much that they missed him terribly each time he had to leave to go away to find buyers for his woodworking. The two children, Chris and Kim, were each given a gift made by their father to keep close to them until he could return. They worried whether he would return and prayed on the first star they saw each night that he would come home safely. This story portrays the love that a father has for his children and them for him in return. It demonstrates that being kind to others by putting others before you can be rewarding. Also, some things like love and good health are far more important than riches.

Some months I read more than you, other months I read less. It depends on several factors, including – but not limited to – my choice of book, and how long it is. It’s not important how much you read though, only that you do.
Exactly, Tori! As long as you are enjoying reading! I have eclectic tastes in reading! 😘
