Taking a Break from Writing – Umm Maybe a Little one!

Somewhere the Sun sets

It’s that time of the year when I take a breather from writing and publishing to rest, relax and unwind with my husband somewhere in the world other than at my laptop. Sigh! Can I do it? Can I not write for a week or more?

I don’t know if I can do that. Unbeknownst to my husband, John, I will be taking not only my Kindle for reading but also my trusty iPad to jot down a little about my vacation to share with my readers. Please don’t tell him.

Of course, once I return there will be a post all about where I traveled. I will have beautiful photos (hopefully) from my iPhone and John’s camera. He doesn’t use his cell to take special photos when on vacation. He doesn’t think the photos are as good. I agree but I will snap some anyway and share all the best ones with you.

With my lofty goal of 5 books to write and publish this year and my reading goal on Goodreads of 95 books it is taking a toll on me. I need to take this break. Please forgive me but I will promise to write more when I come back.

We have published two books so far in 2019 with three more coming to make the goal of 5. I have been keeping John so busy that he needs this vacation even more than I do. Poor guy! I am such a task master. Sigh! With 24 books under our belts and more coming it’s no wonder he is exhausted!

I have already begun Book 3 of Abby & Holly Series and John is avidly working on the first Dragon book in a series of six books. We will publish both books this year in between our busy lives. But I am not complaining, I wouldn’t know what to do if I didn’t keep as busy as I do. Like everyone we have families that keep us going in every direction with birthdays, other celebrations and get togethers. With the good weather here there will be more gatherings that will keep us away from writing and publishing a bit but this we expect. I still will meet my goals as much as I possibly can. (Fingers crossed!)

I look forward to this trip but once it is behind me I will get right back to work with a joy in my step and ready fingers to fly once again across my laptop. Ahh! I love to write but I do love to travel too! Shhh, please remember, don’t tell John about the iPad that will be tucked away in my carryon.

Leaving you with some warm sunsets and beach scenes from previous vacations.
