WHO LOVES SHORT STORIES? PART 3
I recently started this segment of my blog to share my blurbs of 15 short stories from An Angel Among Us (A Short Story Collection). Go here and here to read the first two parts of this segment.
If you know anything about me at this point in time from reading my blog, you would know that I am an eclectic writer. I can’t just write in one genre or about one subject or for one age group. I love to bounce all over the spectrum and sometimes outside my comfort zone. This can be scary at times!
In this short story collection I have written 15 stories in the following genres, romance, grief/loss, mystery, suspense, horror, paranormal, sci-fi, and fantasy. This book was dedicated to my courageous friend, Anne Gillis Benedetto, who lost her fight with breast cancer in January of 2017. She will always be remembered as a kind, benevolent and witty woman who is missed daily by all her friends that have been graced to be touched by her beautiful spirit and forever changed for the good.
Story three is titled, Strawberry Preserves. This story came to me one day when I was spreading strawberry rhubarb jam on a cracker. The color and viscosity of the jam reminded me of blood. Sorry, I don’t want to sound gory but that’s how my mind works sometimes. It goes in all kinds of crazy directions.
Blurb: of 3rd short story – Strawberry Preserves
A newly divorced woman must survive in her troubled life with a young child. She finds herself strapped when she cannot find work to support herself and her child. One day she makes a mistake but must go on in spite of it. When an older woman comes into her life she feels hope returning.
